    My daughter passed her test at 17. Within a few months, she had a massive accident. Swerved to avoid a rabbit <doh or even doe> while doing 70 on the motorway and crashed through a fence, the car was a wreck, a stave from the fence pierced the floor next to the pedals. How she got out was a miracle. She has scars on her arms and head. Very very lucky.

    It takes everyone a while to realise (after passing your test) that the only person you need to look after is yourself. My missus did a similar thing on the M3, swerving to avoid an already dead animal on the road. <doh>

    Yeah, she was just a bit shaken but it's a learning curve isn't it!

    On the other end of the scale my marra hit a deer on the A414 (Herts) and it completely wrote his car off.
    I could not believe the damage.
