I wish people would stop giving us their opinions all the time! As we all know opinions mean nothing, they are not facts and are usually are stupid! I will not give my opinion on Claude because it would be a load of bollocks and I am not going to read a few things on the web for 5 minutes and come out with an informed opinion because that would be a load of bollocks. What I will do is welcome our new manager who has been selected by people who do know about him and wish him well! (til he leaves)
Anybody know if Winnie the Pooh has a theme tune we can adapt to Winning with Puel for a terrace chant?
Translation 'Good luck to our two old Great Danes (club nickname) Claude Puel and Pascal Plancque in their new adventure on the other side of the channel'

Ok everyone stop winding up Tom , he's obviously taken todays news somewhat badly and is in a state of shock, we should give him time to come to terms with it all. Get well soon Tom.
Listening to Claude's longer interview, he obviously feels that one of the challenges this season will be playing every three days. He says it will be tough on the players, especially mentally, to play a game after they have given everything in the Europa games. He gave a wry smile when asked what the target was over the next three years...he will have to get used to such questions in England. He suggested making the Champions League....right answer. Came over well, but don't expect media days to be entertaining. A quiet guy.
Opinion of a Nice fan: "Some people might define him for his time at Lyon, but while he was there the club seemed desperate to go far in CL (like a bit of a cheaper PSG). He didn't do well, but... The thing is, he did so much good at Lille and OGC Nice. At Lille, he brought them from the bottom to the top and started their successful "Buy cheap, sell for a lot". And yes, OGC Nice have a new stadium, but a lot of clubs (especially in France - Grenoble, Valenciennes, Le Mans......) have struggled to make anything out of it. When he signed up for being a manager for OGC Nice, he said he wanted to get them into the Champions League. He was laughed at. The squad was a real disaster. He was three points away from CL it in his first season, and two points this last season. Sure, some bad results as well, but it was during a time when the team was awful. He had such a bad defence to work with. They had pretty much no money to spend. Despite that, he did so good. He was close at bringing in Kurzawa when he was nobody, but it failed in the last minutes. He fixed Mendy (now going to Leicester?). Amavi. Kolodzieczak. Ben Arfa. Ospina had it rough for a while before Puel came in. During his four seasons, he played with around 25 (!!!) players from the academy in Ligue 1. Among them Amavi and Koziello (look that kid up). During the last two seasons, OGC Nice was BY FAR the youngest team in the five big leagues. And the team played a very nice, attacking football. This guy is very good. I would choose him over Rudi Garcia, Laurent Blanc, Gourvennec, Galtier..." "
I am a bit underwhelmed at the moment as expected a bigger managerial name to match our status. Our only signing so far fits the same category but I am prepared to admit I should have known Les Reed got it right on the last two incumbents! Everything so far just seems a bit safe and middle of the road after that season just gone.
I wouldn't take it to heart, there are perhaps worse places then a football forum to have an opinion. #doeswhatitsaysonthetin
