I wid. Yeah season 3 should be worth a gander I started watching 'The Five' last night. Two episodes in and looks good. Also like the look of 'The Tunnel'. Anyone watched either of these?
Sky - The Tunnel is really good. I gather you know roughly what it's about. The French bird in it is fit, I'd give her one Not the best looking but she's definitely do able
It is, season 1 is really good, season 2 is ok but season 1 was much better I felt. Let me know when you start watching
I thought the murder reveal was poor, all the story leading up to it and it was just a massive let down.
yup swept the irrelevant characters off the field. Next year is just the big characters clashing... prior to the white walker invasion. Cereci v denarys. Jamie v jon?? should be interesting. How greyjoy and sansa link comes out will be interesting. How littlefinger works out will be interesting. what happens to tully and why has he been saved from the chop... where's his forces? whats the Dorn part of this and the three little minxes. lots of fun. I'm glad tomen and marge are gone. it was just a set up for cercei to keep her in story. I don't want to see any weakness from here on in. the characters left are strong ones. Cercei and jamie. no opposition left at all at kings landing.. and none needed thanks denerys, tyrion, grandma, the dorn triplets.. the gelded lads... (bladie, greyjoy and wormy) on boats coming then up north... jon, sansa and littlewanker... independant characters. the hound.. to do what we don't know yet. is he headed north or south? Arya.. whats next on the list.. will she got to winterfell or no? Its going to be interesting with only 7 episodes.
In my mind it breaks down like this. Jaime will not be with Cersei next season, and may very well be the man who kills her, or is atleast opposing her. The reason? 3 fold 1) She wiped out a **** ton of people by doing the very thing Jaime gave up his honour to stop the Mad King from doing. Jaime stops the Mad King from unleashing Wildfire on Kings Landing, saving thousands of people, and spend the rest of his life mocked, looked down upon and vilified, yet when Cersei does that very thing, they ****ing crown her QUEEN! Jaime has to be super pissed 2) She killed most of Kings Landings bureaucracy, plus the heads to of two of the great houses (Kevan Lannister and Mace Tyrell, the former also happens to be Jaime's uncle) plus the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms (Margaery) and directly caused the suicide of Jaime's son, Tommen. Brienne's honour has rubbed off on Jaime and I cannot see this sitting right with him. 3) The realisation that Jaime has dedicated his life to his love for Cersei, and yet all Cersei cares about is herself. He has now seen the steps she is willing to take to obtain power, and that look he gave him at the end said to me "What the **** have you done? I don't even know who the **** you are anymore!" Plus Arya is going to be gunning for her next season too. She is right at the top of her list now, since she has taken out Walder Frey. Also, I know this is Game Of Thrones, and things never go the way you think, but I really cannot see how the **** Cersei isn't going to be wiped out in weeks by Daenerys invasion army. The Lannister's have small standing army, albeit depleted by the War of the Five Kings, no more than 10,000 men. Jaime took 8,000 with him to River Run, which was almost all of them. In season one, Tywin mentioned they had 60,000 men, they may have won the war, but Robb and Stannis ****ed them up. The Tyrells are gone, they have switched allegiance to Daenerys, thanks to Cersei wiping out their Lord (Mace), his heir (Loras) and Margaery. Olenna is not be ****ed with, and she has vengeance on her mind. Dorne, also thanks to Cersei sending Jaime to Dorne to get Myrcella, are now gunning for Cersei too, and have joined with Daenerys. The Freys will be in disarray, Walder and his two oldest children were killed. He has like a gazillion kids, so I can see there being major civil war in House Frey while all his progeny bicker over his estate, so they are unlikely to be in a position to help Cersei. So Daenerys role call = (Approx) 5,000 Unsullied around 100,000 Dothraki The Iron Born Rebel fleet and its crew (probably around 2,000 guys) The Tyrell army (around 12,000 guys, according to Olenna in Season 4 when he had lunch with Tyrion) The Dornish Martell army, no idea on numbers, historically they never had the largest military but they have been untouched by war this entire series, so you have to figure between 5,000-10,000 guys at least. not to mention 3 ****ING DRAGONS! Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion who are HUGE now. Really do not see how Cersei will last even 2 weeks against this army..... Jon is King of the North now, Danerys will not be happy about the North trying to secede again, but could end this peacefully with an alliance of marriage with Jon, especially if she finds out he is the son of Rhaegar. (again, the ideal ending, that we are not likely to get Jon and Dany on the throne with Tyrion as hand) Season 6 pretty much gave me everything I was asking for (Jon's parentage reveal, Benjen disappearance solved, Arya and Dany finally back in Westeros). Totally psyched for next season, even if it is only going to be 7 episodes.
............................. I think yes they shouldn't be together but there has to be some scene at the outset of season 7 where they part. I do totally agree on the honor stuff. I can only see jamie being made head of house lannister at the rock etc etc... maybe hand of the kind and all. Cercei has here guys.. I can see the wildfire dudes coming back in as her staff as well as the guy what crowned her.... i think theres plenty there for her and shes going to be a strong dictator.. season 7 should be all about her and end with her getting here surely.. I think jamie logically has to head for winterfell prior to denerys landing.. I don't see him opposing her any time soon... I just see cercei being arya's last kill. ... regarding armies. The lannisters army is a large one relatively speaking for westeros. The 60k would have been several armies for severla hourse about the south. then theres the varied forces. Lets look at the battle of bastards. lets look at the picture that the show clearly want to give of real troops v warriors. we see the knights of the vale in full armour hit the botlon troops for the back after we see the bolton drilled troops surround and slaughter the snow force. The point of this is to show that 40k (mentioned in show) dolthraki horse with no armour riding about pillaging is all well and good til it meets armoured troops in the field. We should compare the unsullied barely covered troops with small shields and spears (really poor fighting weapons btw) to the forces that kamie rode in on. We need to compare the professionalism shown by the lannisters to the freys for example The numbers are not enough.. thats what the show is telling us. Its also told us in no uncertain terms about walled cities and taking them. Denerys can land (job one) and can pillage baout the place but she has to take cities in seige or by bargaining. Then theres the wildfire (joy) and theres the little fact that the iron islands will have the salt king rather put out with his pointless fleet. We could see a huge ship battle for example. I would expect that cercei will die in episode 7 of season 7. perhaps at the hand of jamie but most likely at the hand of Trust me... its going to be FUN! Once denrys lands all of little fingers plans go out the window. He's hitched to the wrong wagon and when he finds out its going to be very interesting. Don't expect denerys to land in the first two shows... thats my view
new theory.... harking back to series 3 Qyburn who's made the mountain is now hand of the king. In season 3 jamie jokes: that Tywin will make Qyburn Grand Maester if he grows Jaime a new hand. After leaving Harrenhal, when Qyburn checks on Jaime's healing stump, Jaime notes that Qyburn's work is far superior to that of Grand Maester Pycelle and asks why the Citadel removed his chain. Qyburn tells him that it was for performing experiments on living humans in order to learn more about their anatomy and justifies his actions by noting that he used the information he gleaned from them to save lives. Could jamie get his hand back in season 7 as cercei unleashes her med scientist? This could turn jamie again......
The Lannisters probably had the largest army at the beginning of the series. 60,000 from all their bannermen, split into two groups of 30k, one under the command of Tywin, the other under Jaime's command. Jaimes army was decimated in season 1 episode 9 by the Northern forces in the Riverlands, when Jaime was captured. Tywins army then went to Harrenhal, who then sent for reinforcements from the Westerlands, led by his nephew Stafford Lannister, who were wiped out next to the Ruby Ford before they could reach Tywin's army.(can't remember what ep that was, it was the battle with the two Lannisters guys farting at the beginning then getting killed by Grey Wind, Robb met Talisa, his future wife, in the aftermath). So that put Lannister forces at 30k. Then however many were killed in the battle of Blackwater. So you have to figure the Lannisters have less than 20k in their standing army now that the Tyrells have abandoned them. As far as Daenerys army goes. The Tyrell army are the best trained and equipped, and there are at least 10-12k of those. The Martell army also are great at guerilla warfare (probably the best in Westeros, they were the only kingdom the dragons never conquered under Aegon).and there is probably 5-10k of those. The Greyjoys are the best sailors, and also by sheer numbers Dany has a naval advantage (there were hundreds of ships in that closing shot). We have never seen the Unsullied on the battlefield, only misused as guards and police in Mereen. Their strengths, according to the books, are rigid formation fighting. Dothraki are unarmoured and would make terrible infantry, but as cavalry they would be unparalleled, they are quick, fierce and deadly fighters at hand to hand. Robert Baratheon himself said that the Seven Kingdoms could not withstand a Dothraki invasion and that "Only a fool would meet the Dothraki in an open field". Plus Danaerys has an Airforce.....3 dragons. Most armies could be wiped out in minutes by just one dragon swooping down and creating a firewall. The numbers favour her, plus she has Air and sea superiority.......no way the Lannisters can win this imo.
why have a 2 series conclusion then No seriously the unsullied... If you look at their equipment compared to what we say in other battles the unsullied would be utterly wiped out in a hot second by any westeros cavalry. they have too mall a shiled and too short a spear. please log in to view this image thye don't strike me as an elite troop in terms of the show. yes they cut the freys to pieces but.... then the dolthraki force. 40k was mentione dbut the are no armour raiders. so thats a big number but could be slaughtered .... yes you are right about the armies you've mentioned form westeros that should be aligned. You've forgotten cercei's new favorite.. wildfire. The point Robert made was open field v behind wall. so the dolthraki can slaughter all and sundry but what will that get denerys... nothing no kingdom to rule! cercei won't give a flying **** about peasants in the field Therefore I can see this being quite interesting.
Yes, but a wall aint gonna protect you against no dragon. Cersei is gonna use fire against dragons?! Dragons are immune to fire.
War for Westeros: will be a somewhat even match. Targaryen, Stark, Tyrell, Martell, and some Ironborn vs. Lannister, Frey, Stormlands, most of the lesser houses, and most of the Ironborn. and with a dash of which side will littlefinger fall on deciding....
