Unless injured or totally out of form,,,,,

    1) McGregor PL matches

    2) Jakupovic all cup games.

Jak has had some brilliant games against the top clubs in the few opportunities he's been given. His performance at Arsenal in the Cup last season was the best I've seen from a Hull City keeper in decades (maybe ever) and earned him a place in the all-European team that week. In the replay the team just gave up in the last 20 minutes and gave him no cover when Arsenal ran riot.

In contrast McGregor has seldom done well against the top clubs, and in general his agility and anticipation are poor. As Syd correctly says Jak has a higher ceiling in the big games than McGregor. He needs to be given more opportunities in the Premiership.

I like Eldin, he's a good keeper and he's proved an able deputy. But as has been said, his all round game isn't as good as McGregor's. I would, however, be looking at bringing in a higher quality, younger keeper to push for a number 1 spot as I'm not totally convinced Greggs will be comfortable for a whole Premier League season.

Jakupovic panics a lot less than McGregor, he distributes the ball better and I like that way European goalies punch it away from danger. A lot of people worry too much 'What if he punches the ball straight to the opposition? Calm down, it nearly always works.

We also have a character in our team when Jak plays and God only knows, We really some of that these days.

Who knows, I voted for him to start the season over McGregor, but that's more because I think he's the form man at the moment. I'd be happy with either to be honest, but I'd be even happier if we popped over to the Bundesliga and bought a goalkeeper from there.

I don't know anything about the Bundesliga really.

    They have great keepers?

Most of their keepers are pretty good. Given the history of their national team, they always seem to produce top goalkeepers.

Don't they punch the ball a lot? I think they do.

Oliver Baumann at Hoffenheim would be a good one, probably costs about £5m. Lukas Hradecky at Eintracht Frankfurt would also be good, as would Timo Horn, but the latter would cost about £10m. Worth every penny though.

On the balance of what we need then, we're probably better to stick with the 'good enough' keeps we already have.

5mil could be much better spent.

It could, but I'd rather have fresh blood in than risk having a lot of keepers at the club who are at risk of losing form. An outfield player is one thing, but if you have an out of confidence goalkeeper it's a different matter.

Also, Thomas Kraft at Hertha Berlin is considering leaving for a new challenge.
