He just explained himself, why he didn't think it was necessary for him to attend now he's no longer manager and why he did decide to attend. It was all perfectly reasonable and he's got a point, the press aren't finding out anything they didn't already know.

    FA chief exec Martin Glenn:

"We're all part of the problem and part of the solution.

"I don't think anywhere in the world the scrutiny is so intense on the national team"

Obviously not aware of the **** storm surrounding the Argentine team then is he!

Heard on the news that Iceland had the same starting 11 in the last 4 games, compare that to Roy who still doesn't know his best team. So much easier when you have a small pool to pick from.

The arrogance and ineptitude from Woy was quite remarkable.

The fact that Martin Glenn, one of the three people in charge of choosing the next England manager, said he isn't a 'football expert', is quite distressing.

With all this referendum talk at the moment, why can't the football league let the fans go to the polls? If we choose we stand or fall by OUR decision.

I think Roy blew it, obviously, but I don't see why he had to attend that press conference.

It was just awkward and painful and I think we had enough of that in the Iceland match itself.

Time for Roy to quietly retire and enjoy his life. He might have failed and come up short as an England manager, but he deserves his dignity.

Fully agree! I'd have dragged Kane out and had him explain the fact why he turned up for the match pissed!

I just cannot understand why they don't just pick and play players in their best position based on the formation you intend to play, its's not rocket science.

I cant understand why anyone would pay that bunch of primadonnas shedloads when its been shown by Leicester and Iceland and wales that you can make a fist of it with a modicum of talent but bagfulls of application and inspirational management.

He doesn't need to retire, he's just been offered a small fortune to go and manage in China.

Hodgson's worried about his safety, so is travelling back in disguise...

Quite scathing from the editor of BBC Sport...

Leaving Chantilly. England abysmal on the pitch, risked expulsion over fan behaviour, & cancelled their one community visit. An all-time low.
