Every serious economist does know that, but every serious economist cannot and will not argue that BIG (there's shouting for you <ok>) mistakes were made over quite a number of years, these exploding upon us all in 2008 onwards. The economies of the world are still paying for them, they haven't gone away - otherwise City earnings would be able to be shown as being far better than they are. Just so it is clear for you and you only, they are doing okay despite the huge ****-ups and dereliction of duty they exercised and the national and international funding that had to rescue them from their irresponsibility (I don't ignore the culpability of the national governments and the EU in this clusterfuck). The fact that you ignore or gloss over this still very real problem detracts still more from any claim you have as an expert.

Your memory is poor, because this comes from someone who has previously told you that he is someone with an informed Layman's knowledge and opinion. What a ****ing chump you are; your credibility is blown, your knowledge is biased, your reasoning also biased, yet you still bump your internet gums to tell us all what we should think. <doh>

The result of the referendum has sent him into catatonic shock and he is unable to type. Even news that Hodgson has resigned has had no recuperative effect.

Try looking into the reports by of those who have analysed the voting nature of the poll. It has been discredited by those who would be best served to give it credit. Forget it; if a referendum or GE is eventually required this poll will have no influence - in fact, in the short term it is a nuisance.

Yes and I have argued my reasons why, rather than trying to take a pompous expert opinion. You come across as someone who made a good cup of coffee before they got a machine. Other experts, unlike you (sic), are currently forecasting outcomes and working towards options for solutions to the various elements of the change; you have been asked for your expert opinion and you say you cannot offer one. Perhaps it's time you ****ed off and waited for real experts to deal with it?

What the **** has the global crash of '08 got to do with economic predictions for a post Brexit UK?

The vast majority of 'serious economists' - 88% - have predicted a post Brexit economy that will suffer for at least 5 years, and 72% predict it'll still be suffering in the next 10-20 years.

82% predict a drop in household income over the next 5 years, and 73% predict that drop will continue for the next 10-20 years.

    https://www.ipsos-mori.com/Assets/Docs/Polls/economists-views-on-brexit-2016-charts.pdf

You're trying to belittle NSIS's view as a former trader, and you also sound as bitter as **** that he obviously did quite well out of it.

    Really...

A survey of black and minority ethnic communities in Hull in 2001 found that 40 per cent had suffered some form of racist abuse.

We can add complete delusion to your list of character traits.

    Much.
Given the key events are nearly a decade ago, what were their predictions on the time frame / level of recovery etc ??

A survey of black and minority ethnic communities in Hull in 2001 found that 40 per cent had suffered some form of racist abuse. In the same year, an asylum seeker was stabbed in the throat and another lost an eye in a catapult attack.

The stabbing and catapult attack were done by fellow migrants.

There also isn't a street in the City that would be unwelcoming to newcomers, southermers and scousers excluded, No offence, it's the voice and attitude.

Have to laugh at that, I've lived all over the country and have to say that beside London (and of course this is a general view as I haven't met everyone) the South and Midlands is much more welcoming than up North. The friendliest city would be Nottingham (especially the women) then Liverpool. The most unwelcoming 2 would be Leeds and York. Just my experience though.

It's a completely different set of circumstances though.

The Global crash was just that - global. It was an issue that affected the main markets across the planet equally hard.

What this is, is a unilateral action by an island state that sits off the coast of the EU landmass. We're voluntarily putting ourselves into a period of economic downturn by removing our trade agreements with the market that takes nearly 50% of our goods and services. It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that there's going to be some pain that comes with that decision.
