No, but the insinuation was quite clear from 'Rumanian pickpockets', as if there was an automatic association between the 2. Maybe the circle has turned - Germany has nearly a million Poles, and added to that around 3 million of Polish descent, yet there are few problems of integration - and this with a country which suffered proportionally more than any other from the Germans in World War 2. The Ruhr is full of people of Polish extraction - 4 have played for the German national football team - they talk like Germans, work like Germans, and, apart from having ski on the end of their names are one of the most integrated populations in Germany. The children of those Poles now in England will be British, in no way distinguishable from you and I.

Unfortunately Cologne it is well known by the Police forces in many cities across the EU that there are gangs of Romanian pickpockets that target cities. They are rife in London and Barcelona.
So not all Romanians are pickpockets and not all pickpockets are Romanians, but a significant number of the pickpocket gangs in London are Romanian - it is a fact. This was acknowledged in the excellent C4 documentary on race and race relations by Trevor Phillips - he who was head of the CRC and then the EHRC and is a Labour Party member so you will struggle to pigeon hole him as a racist xenophobe. You should take the time to try and view this documentary, it is a real eye opener.

Once again, the goal is to control immigration and match it to the needs of the economy and society. So those from the EU can apply for a work visa in exactly the same way that a non-EU citizen can apply for one today. So if the health service needs specific resources, they can source them from wherever and those who are hired obtain a visa with the support of their employer. But the person who currently just jumps on a bus or plane and turns up in London without any offer of work will no longer be able to after a Brexit. Seems a perfectly simple and logical solution to a problem that is growing daily and cannot be addressed within the EU.

Simple, but it is not working. My daughter tells me that the hospital trusts that she works for are understaffed because it is taking months to get those visas. They have the money for the staff that they need, but there has always been a large turnover in staff, and to have to wait 9-12 months to get a visa simply puts people off. They have become more reliant on trying to plug the gaps from the EU where visas are not required.

Then I suggest that the British are not doing a very good job at integration - Germany has 5 times as many people from Rumania as Britain does without having this problem.

Then they need to get their act together. I can get a technical consultant over from India in a couple of weeks.

Showing your ignorance again SH. In 2013 Germany had 576,200 Rumanians officially resident - the UK. figure is only an estimate (because the British do not have an effective registration system) between 140,000 and 170,000. As to criminality are you presuming to lecture me on what the situation is in Germany ?

Britain is doing something seriously wrong here W_Y. Germany has nearly 600,000 Rumanians, Italy over a million yet neither country is throwing all its toys out of the pram as a result. Britain has what - less than 200,000, in other words one to every 300 citizens, yet that is enough to apparently be a threat to the entire fabric of British society ?

We have read so much about this fabled Australian points system as a route to go down, but once again it is not what it seems. Read this, which explains why what we have should work. http://ukandeu.ac.uk/an-australian-points-system-for-britain/
If they need to get their act together then that has nothing to do with the EU.

So the Romanians decision to pickpocket is the blame of the UK? - your logic is certainly unusual.

Really SH you are flogging a dead horse here. The majority of pickpockets are druggies according to the Met. trying to pay for their addiction. I suppose you will tell us next that all Romanians are addicted. Grow up.

Here you go again, distorting facts in the same way as Ukip do. Britain has deported 6,500 criminals since 2010 as a result of the European Arrest Warrant - the right to deport criminals back to other EU. countries has been further strengthened as a result of Cameron's negotiations with the EU. - The International Law Decision. The right to automatically deport could not be used so easily outside of the EU.

It is you that is prattling on like a spoilt child, accept the decision like a man and stop talking the UK down. You have a hell of a lot of problems facing France in the next few years. Anti-labour reform protests causing chaos around the country. Our lame duck leader will be replaced much sooner than yours.

Don't address the issue. Change the subject. It is your normal route. If you wish to discuss France I am quite happy to do so, but that is not what we were talking about.

Given the news of anti-immigrant activities in the UK I would suspect that there will be a drop in the number of people wanting to move there.

If the Romanians are druggies or just plain thieves if they are not contributing to the UK they should be deported a.s.a.p. We have enough of our own thanks.

The basis on which these foreigners are allowed to stay in the UK should be decided by the elected UK government.
