He is but not sure his magic would be effective over a short time with English players - a bit too risky for me. The FA won't appoint the type of manager we need - experienced , proven man-manager, ruthless & opinionated ...that would be.......?? Harry Rednapp ?
Latest odds as per W Hill 6/4 Gareth Southgate 4/1 Glenn Hoddle 8/1 Alan Shearer 8/1 Eddie Howe 8/1 Harry Redknapp 10/1 Alan Pardew 14/1 Gary Neville 16/1 Sam Allardyce 20/1 Brendan Rodgers 25/1 David Moyes 25/1 Guus Hiddink 25/1 Jurgen Klinsmann 25/1 Manuel Pellegrini 25/1 Mauricio Pochettino
I really hope it is Hoddle then we dont have to put up with his punditry, also we keep Sam which is my only concern, England can take a run and jump.
A good shout and not a yes man but respected by the FA - Mary Poppins -oops Shearer As long as not Mr Allardyce - we need him imooc
Anyone see the press conference with Hodgson this afternoon? He claimed he didn't need to be there because he'd already left the job. Piss off Roy, you got paid £3.5 million a year and got knocked out by a team of minnows. Don't be so naïve as to think you couldn't avoid the flak. He gave a four minute statement and then slithered off into the sunset. Pleased he's gone.
He's a ****ing mug mate. If we want any chance of success we must go foreign, we must choose a tactician, a strong minded ****er who does it his way and adapts. We haven't got anyone, and I include Sam, who has what we need. I've said and I repeat I'd go for Pelligrini. Were it not fantasy island the only man I'd pursue would be Mr Ancelotti.
In the past decade (or so) the Dutch and the Germans have both appointed former star players with little or no experience (Van Basten and Klinnsmann) and they haven't done appallingly. Maybe its time we gave that a go. Someone like that couldn't do any worse than Hodgson.
He'd be insane to take it but I tell you what, I bet you if they asked, he'd consider it. He'd certainly out some interest back in the knackers.
I'll tell you who I would love for the job fellas, Beckham's nemesis.....Diego Simeone. Slimy, streetwise, dirty......but gets the job done. FA wouldn't touch him with a bargepole though
Even worse I believe it was €3.5million per year . I"m seething about this - I'm sure many others are .....Thankfully as Sunderland fans we're well used to these situations but its still not easy to take
