**** it, sign a pre-contract agreement with him to join in January for free then just say to Kazan, "500k for a 6 month loan. take it of leave it dickheads." That will throw a spanner in the works.

I still say get him to sign a pre agreement to join in January and threaten to wait it out. That will get the price down.

They'll drop their price and we'd have him here in good time imo. if we're talking over 5m for a player with 6 months left who they don't even want I don't blame us playing hardball because they're taking the piss. He hasn't improved under them, them overpaying in the first place isn't our fault. Teams need to suck it up when they **** up.

Saying that though Nads, if they want 5 or less best not **** about and get him in. if 5mil were to represent 6 months of his contract, they value him at 40m over a 4 year contract. 5 or under(the 5 is being generous but we want to seal this) we should pay it.

We suck it up right until their contract runs out and the buggers have to leave when they have no choice.

New Rubin Kazan manager Javi Gracia has confirmed that Yann M’Vila is not part of his plans, as Sunderland strive to bring the midfielder back to Wearside.

M’Vila returned to parent club Kazan last week for the start of pre-season training after the end of his hugely successful loan spell at Sunderland.

However, M’Vila - along with four other players who spent last season out on loan - has been training separately from the rest of the first-team squad over recent days.

Nads don't think he'd fade again as he wants to be here and knows what fitness level he needs to be at. Plus knows the way BSA (& fans) want the team to play - we need to box clever and force their hand

Don't know if this is the proper thread, if only the search function actually worked.

David Moyes reveals the progress of Sunderland returns for Yann M’Vila and DeAndre Yedlin

    Yann M'Vila
    3HAVE YOUR SAY
David Moyes has confirmed that last season’s loanees Yann M’Vila and DeAndre Yedlin remain firmly in Sunderland’s sights.

The new Sunderland manager spoke at length with predecessor Sam Allardyce prior to his arrival at the Stadium of Light and is well aware of how important Rubin Kazan midfielder M’Vila and Spurs right-back Yedlin were to the Black Cats remaining in the Premier League.

Sunderland held fresh talks with Kazan over a permanent deal for M’Vila last week, yet it continues to be a problematic and patience-sapping pursuit of the Frenchman.

However, both M’Vila and Yedlin are still very much on Sunderland’s radar, even if Moyes is keeping an open mind over other options available on the market.

He told the Echo: “Both M’Vila and Yedlin made decent impacts.

“They are players who we have talked a lot about in the last week, and we have spoken to people about them.

“So I would say that they are players who are out there, but they are among a number of players who we are looking at.

“I want to see if there are better players than that available, or if there is better value.

“I’m having to find out about the market quickly, and seeing what is there.

“At the moment the market is difficult and getting a price and valuation on someone is not easy.”

Moyes also confirmed that a new right-back is one of three self-explanatory positions that need to be strengthened, with Sunderland also desperately short of numbers at centre-half and up front.

“It’s obvious we need a new right-back, a centre-half and a centre-forward – and that’s before we even start to think about anything else or improving a different area,” he added.

“They are merely needed as a given.”

    He won't a M'Vila alternative for less than £15m

    BARCA AND SONG PART WAYS

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song has joined Russian side Rubin Kazan after his contract was cancelled by Barcelona.

The 28-year-old midfielder spent the last two seasons on loan at West Ham after joining Barca from Arsenal in 2012.

Rubin announced the signing with a statement on their official website which read: "Rubin signed a contract with 28-year-old midfielder Alex Song."

Song, who began his career at French club Bastia, last played for the Spanish champions in May 2014, making a total of 39 LaLiga appearances during his time at the Nou Camp.

A Barcelona website statement added: "FC Barcelona and player Alex Song have reached an agreement to terminate the contract that bound the two parties. FC Barcelona wishes the Cameroonian luck and much success in what follows of his professional career."

    Could this help our cause?

M`Vila wants out, they want him out, we want him in, they`re demanding a price, dragging things out while he`s not playing and at the same time still paying his wages.

SAFC are doing this right imo.

Rubin Kazan would have to pay another 6 months of a player's wages who they've already said won't play.

There's not a chance they'll risk the transfer windows closing and having to fork out half a million quid.
