Don't disagree, just saying he still draws the crowds. So do,a lot of others I personally wouldn't want to see.
The pimply effete mollycoddled youth of today have years of toil, mistakes, setbacks and life's lessons to come before they can permit themselves the status of 'old fart'. Will you be holding court in 30 years time on the great Will Young and James Blunt gigs of your youth?
Don't kill the messenger OLM I was told the day after the concert so I have no reason to disbelieve him as I wasn't there.
PJ Harvey wasn't much cop I'm afraid, I hate to say it but once these rock musicians get to a certain age it all goes a bit safe and predictable, and boring
One group of older fellas who I think are still innovating are Kraftwerk, would have liked to have seen their show at the Tate Modern the other year
A much maligned group the Bee Gees but the criticism was always unfair I thought. Their song writing ability was amongst the best, for themselves and other stars of the era but their most successful period, after being out in the wilderness for quite a while, was the Staying Alive stuff, ironically not my favourite period I'm afraid it all sounded a bit like the chipmunks to me, but it brought them back into the limelight.
I think they've all been in the range of good to brilliant. Certainly not safe, predictable or boring though!
