Conte looks great fun. Italy did a proper job on Spain. Spain and England exit at the same stage.<laugh>

WOY is very much a miracle worker. He sent thousands of fans to bed sober and they woke up this
morning with a hangover. Well done Woy. <applause><laugh>

I read that Roy Hodgson was the only person who had a coherent plan for taking England out of Europe.

Not a chance and he wont take it anyway. The next manager could well be a temp. In saying that is
anyone really bothered about qualifying for Russia 2018 and all the trouble that will bring ?

My choice would be Harry (but the FA suits wont allow that) with Rio Ferdinand as defensive coach, Steven Gerrard as midfield coach and Alan Shearer as striker coach.

Interesting to hear that WOY was not going to do the presser @ 4pm today. Gutless twat. He owes the fans who went over to France an explanation at the very least. Looks like his arm has been twisted to do it.

Nor I. Saw it coming. England players are mentally weak. FACT. Wales are a proper team and something that England can only dream of being at the moment. WOY got it wrong from the date the squad was announced to team selection etc etc etc. The only thing he got right was his resignation letter.

Now the likes of Andros Townsend and Danny Drinkwater must be thinking they dodged a bullet. Wont have that mess on the CV.

Well done Iceland. You had everything that England did not. You deserve the glory of last night. Thanks
for getting rid of the clueless WOY.

Agreed. The 11 starters should be made to walk back to England and without any security.

Why was Rashford not brought on by the hour mark ffs ? He showed more in 5 mins that the rest all game.

Joe Hart really does need to get that limp wrist sorted. However he was not helped by the dire defence.

Your opinion on Howe is yours. But this comment is excellent and I agree, I would not be upset if we skipped it. :emoticon-0148-yes:

For me, it is pointless throwing striker after striker onto the pitch, if there is nobody with creativity to feed them the ball! Why Barkley didnt get on is crazy. Strikers are not there for creativity, they are there to finish opportunities that creative Midfielders can create. Alli fed Kane with goal after goal for Spurs by him being on the defenders shoulder. For England he drops deep, same as Sturridge. I think we need some new blood in the qualifiers for the World Cup. I would get Alli and Barkley into the side, and even Zaha as an option on the right hand side. A player who will beat the full back and deliver the ball...unlike Sturridge and Walker last night who beat the man, then trap the ball, run back and pass it to Rooney

Ironically, the English midfield player with the most assists last season was Milner, only Özil, Eriksen, Mahrez, Payet, Tadić and Vardy had more Premier League assists.

The key problem for me was width, we had no natural width or flair apart from Sterling, so when he took him off for Vardy it was nearly as bad as Dier being taken off. Sturridge out on the right, what was he thinking. Walker and Lalanna combined brilliantly but Sturridge and Walker was such a tactical blunder. Sturridge left Chelsea because he couldn't cope with playing on the right. The second half we were beaten from about 60 minutes against Iceland because of no width or flair in the team, no disrespect to them but it's as bad a debacle for England as I can ever remember going back to 1982. Rooney did misplace a few passes but the pressure put on him and Alli by Hodgsons tactics was incredible and I actually feel sorry for Kane as he should never have started being so obviously crap in the first match and he should have been off early in the second half! Having a recently failed manager like Neville probably didn't help matters either so you have a completely duff management team there when alls said and done.

Yes. RH looks set for a right old fashioned grill job.

Don't get me wrong on Howe. He would make a good manager but not now. The FA suits need to go as well.
We need the likes of the 2 David's.... Gill and Dein to run the FA. Proper football men who know what they are doing. Both were @ the helm during Arsenal and Manchester United recent pomp.

Like you, Russia 2018 holds little interest for obvious reasons.
