I think he was pushed into a final statement he might regret. He had always held the position that tax rises and (further) spending cuts might be necessary, not certainly necessary. He has advised he would know better when the time arrived. He is not making the cuts now; why if they are needed? I think it is too early for anyone to be sure and I will wait and see what will happen as I am far from convinced until it happens - after all, they have collectively managed to get so much wrong so far, according to the Remainers.

haha, that about sums it up.

A public school dick waving contest that ended up with the UK economy as collateral damage.

You seemed to have forgotten to quote the reasons why an unwritten constitution is better.

But the people voted for a Tory government, so the people wanted a referendum

I have no view on whether having a defined constitution is 'better' or not, I just know that we don't have one.

You said we didn't have a constitution - which was wrong.
If you said we didn't have a written constitution which wasn't in one document you were right. The US constitution isnt even in one document.

No, but you've seemingly aleady forgotten about the question I asked and you confirmed not 10 minutes since that he wouldn't have a mandate to deliver.

So what does he have a mandate to deliver?

As the referendum asked one question - in or out.

We don't have a defined constitution it's a simple ****ing fact.

The US constitution is a defined set of documents that can be referenced and directly related to, we have nothing of the sort.

Your know-it-all approach really does make you look a fool. The only thing debated is whether or not and by whom the UK Constitution should be codified.

Here is a brief extract from the document I quoted:

I have highlighted the most pertinent part - it mentions, quite clearly, the existing constitution. I, nor anyone else, gave mention to the UK Constitution being formally written (codifyed), I simply referred to it's existence, as does the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies who I am sure you will say have not got a scooby either. Read it and start to catch up with those of us who understand.

Have you finished making stuff up now?

That's a matter of opinion. I'm giving you my opinion. The cabinet will discuss what can and should be achieved. I would think that free movement and contributions to the EU were two of the biggest issues that are relevant in the negotiations. You seem to think that a simple document is all that is needed to run a government for five years. It is much more complicated than that. But then you struggle on the issue of whether we have a constitution or not.
