Times rating for Rashford is very harsh - if he had been given some decent time on the pitch he looked like he could have rescued this debacle.
They're all very harsh. You cant give any player from last night a zero - that would mean they literally got nothing right in the entire game. No tackles made, no passes completed, no shots on target, no interceptions, no shots saved etc. Its the same way a player should never - or hardly ever - get a 10. Id expect better from The Times. In Italy in the main sports papers all the players every week get ratings of between 5 and 8, anything above or below these marks is extremely rare. I think from memory there was only one 10 ever given and that was for Maradona.
Dont know without trawling back but did anyone else shakes there head( mine never stopped shaking to be fair) when Wiltshere came on for Dier. My point been Icelands danger with the long throw was looked at by Roy with the removal of a 6 foot 3 withe the smallest member of the squad. Pass the razoe blades
I didnt watch, I was busy so had it on Talksport, and it was the first point made by Stuart Pearce as the sub was happening.
Perhaps he was more focused on attack at 2-1 down? I'd be more concerned by the fact we set up for those throwins with Rooney marking their target man.
Agree re Rooney. Attack was on his mind not sure that taking Dier off was only option.. Rooneys passing was appalling
The very best part of last night was the atmosphere created by the Icelandic support, they really did sound like Viking warriors going off to war, maybe it was this that intimidated our poor little players! Garbage England!
I didn't have a problem with taking off a holding player. We needed to go for it. Wilshere's form was worrying though. I know people don't like him but he's normally a quality player. Same with Kane and others.
