To be fair, his first job was for a decent team with high expectations, which was on a mini-decline, in a foreign country where he couldn't speak the language. Was madness taking it on imo, was never gonna work out.
I can absolutely see them giving the job to Southgate, he'd be a typically awful choice. All he'd do is look at a list of each player's value in the transfer market and pick the most expensive for each position which seems to be the standard way of doing things.
i couldn't give a flying **** who the next manager is so long as they are their own person and pick the team on who deserves to be in it on performances and not loyalty. He has to have some idea about tic tacs and how to work and perform together as a team and not a bunch of overpaid prima donnas. The FA need to appoint someone and let them get on with it and not interfere with the new managers ways in the slightest.
