It's getting bloody embarrassing. Yes Liverpool are a big club but right now in this moment they are our rivals - they finished below us FFS and we still sell our best players to them. Unbelievable.

Er, we did that the last 2 summers as well and they still finished below us last season!

I hate the fact that we have sold to Liverpool but really the laugh is on them, not us. Their recruitment and development for such a 'great' club is laughable.

How much profit did we make on Lambert, lallana, lovren, clyne and Mane. Can't remember all the figures but sell on profit on these 5 players must be about 75 million.

Liverpool have no long term plan, we do. I know who I would rather support

Why would you cry? If he gets him playing even at 75-80% of his potential, he'd be a very, very good player for us.

I can just see a repeat of Osvaldo! Our players all seem to get on and have great togetherness, I really wouldn't want to risk that for a player who was average during his time in the premier league.

He's a bit old to be talking about potential. He's 29, and has been pretty mediocre throughout his career, save for one good season in France.

Agreed. He is a good player. Just not often for Newcastle. Apparently doing very well in France. Tbh, I'd like Eljero Elia back. I liked him.

He was also terrible with Hull, as well. And he's a headcase; he has shown up for preseason badly overweight, has gotten into multiple scuffles with teammates, has forced his way out of two teams (in both cases, by effectively negotiating his own transfer and then declaring that he wouldn't return to his current team) and simply left the UK during his loan spell at Hull without telling anyone, which led to the termination of the loan deal and his contract with Newcastle. Pardew called him the most difficult player he has ever worked with.

    Surely we can do better.

Fair enough. Elia I would like to see return. Thought he was good enough.

One good season in France when Puel was his manager.

Absolutely. Still one good season produced by a player with a history of tantrums and poor play who is at the tail end of his prime, in a system where he was the focal point of the attack. We going to bring him in and build a system around him as a free role number 10 as he had in Nice?

    No details then?

For me, he came in and worked hard up and down the left in his first game against United. His second game he scored the two goals against Newcastle and I thought "here we go."

From then on, for me he just was there. He worked hard, but we could have any player working hard. In terms of actually beating players, getting crosses in, scoring and creating, I really thought he flattered to deceive. I liked him. He worked for the team and covered the ground up and down the flanks, but that was about it for me.

I genuinely can't recall anything beyond the early bang that made me think we must sign him. Happy to be corrected though if someone can pull out a dozen games where he stood out.

I'd be wanting to sign better than him, nice chap though he seemed while here.
