I think the time's right for an alternative to the two main stream parties. A massive reason behind the referendum vote was a feeling of disconnect between the people and their representatives in Parliament.

Too many get wrapped up in the internal politics of Westminster, and become Londoncentric at the expense of the people they're supposed to be representing.

A party that took the listened to people and considered their wishes would walk it. I believe most people want to be part of a caring community, rather than being an empty raincoat.

I'm sceptical of all politicians. Maybe that's me from years of being ****ed over by them.,

I think that there is no doubt that the parliamentary Labour Party want Corbyn out. I believe also that they will force a leadership election. Their problem is that the rank and file members of the Labour Party who voted Corbyn in last time may well do so again ( with the help of quite a few Tories who joined the party for £3 just so they could vote for Corbyn!) I think if he's reelected, there may well be a breakaway.

I agree with most of that, albeit any completely fresh party could achieve a decent overall percentage of the vote and still not gain more than a handful of seats, due to our ridiculous electoral system.

A fresh Labour free of the constraints that the Union ties brings would be my preferred option.

I think that's pretty much what the Lib Dems were supposed to be before they disappeared up their own arse.

The Express, the Fail and the Telegraph......I'm not even clicking on those links.

Deposited some flutes having federalism as their goal, it's got **** all chance of happening, and that point has been made by the UK and others within the EU on numerous occasions. Well done for swallowing the sensationalism of the Murdoch media as somehow being 'fact' though.

Alarmist, in my view. There is no appetite for a federal Europe. Even Juncker has conceded that.

There may well be one or two trying to talk it up, but their chances of pushing federalism through at the moment are virtually zero.

The fact that most outlets report that the UK was the only barrier between the EU and superstate status is proof enough that their interests and ours are not aligned, and further proof that we should be out.

The whole thing was pretty much set up to evolve into being ruled from the centre almost from the off. I think one of a number of positives of the recent vote is that it has stalled it.

Even still, the fact that they want to do that, that its their ultimate goal, doesn't bother you at all?
You still want to suckle from the EUs teet and just try to fend this **** off, and hope we are perennially successful in doing so.

I call it a conflict of interests, and ultimately a reason to part ways.

Sorry I should have said Tory supporting newspapers, all owned by billionaires living in tax havens, the same tax havens that the EU wish to stamp on...

Irrespective, I never disputed that there's an element within the EU that favours federalism, what I countered was that it was something that was ever going to happen. Your posts were suggesting it was going to be some sort of covert operation that would somehow just arrive without our consent. Blair ****ed off the notion of federalism at the turn of the century.
