really poor so far, leaking goals like we've been doing all pre season. why is downing on the right???
The inverted winger system, probably trying it out. Starting to worry about Carroll, he just looks like he is lumbering out there. For him to work we have to get him service. Both goals were really poor, Spearing losing his man ( ball watching) and a ball that should have been cleared at least 3x before adam had to fly in to try and get it away. We don't look comfortable on the ball at the moment, hopefully it is just a case of getting guys used to pass and move and not hoof and run.
First 5 minutes were good and Downing was looking quick. Since then it has been pathetic and we haven't really even had an attempt on goal. Watching Johnson makes me miss Kelly.
Also, Johnson should not be out there, he is not fit and looks 2 steps too slow and very cautious over his body it seems.
I thought the whole point of downing was to get him down the line to put balls into the box to carroll with his left foot? Let's be honest, these aren't a good team and they're giving us a bit of a runaround
should have had a goal there, johnson might have done better. then carra almost gets turned and done for a 1v1, luckily got back to clear. If you invert, Henderson needs to be out there to put balls in the box as well with Kuyt behind Carroll. Henderson looks like he is switching now and again with downing at AM.
Well we will concede a 3rd goal for sure as we have done in every single pre-season game. Poor Downing is being made to chase down hopeless balls from the back when he looks like the only one interested.
I think Kenny needs to lay into them at half, at this rate we will get smacked by valencia and go into the season with no confidence at all. We need to wake up and get some intensity in our game and not just go out for a light training match.
It's been very poor so far, same old story - missing that little bit of creativity. Would be good to see Sterling get a 45 minute run out, but doubt he will. How we miss Suarez Also, where's Raul Meireles?
down 2-0 and pretty strong line-up. Our passing is not crisp at all, very wayward, too far or too short, I was hoping with the stronger line up it would look better. I feel really negative right now but it just doesn't look good and as I type one of their players just went from half field to around the top of the box, not one person even ran with!!!!!
Apparently Meireles has a "bruised foot" and that is why he hasn't played...... not sure on that one though.
Aquilani is on the bench, hopefully will play some more. I would like to see Sterling play for a while too and Meireles has a bruised foot and was left home because of it as said Dalglish.
Cheers for the update on Meireles Talk today that Aqua's move to Fiorentina could still be on - will be interesting to see if he's used at all today, or saved to prevent a knock....
