Who has been dismissive of what 'struggling for a while' will mean for some. Personally I understand it very well, but sometimes you have to just try and move forward for the common good; that doesn't stop you caring or trying to minimise it. Get off your high horse and realise that caring and pragmatism are mutually acceptable bedfellows.

Although didn't you say earlier that it had nothing to do with Brexit because nothing's changed?

Cameron said prior to the vote that he'd invoke article 50 the morning after the result.

Now you've politicians taking about a 12 month wait before doing anything....what does that tell you?

Most commentators that I've listened to, including a number of present and former MP's think that a GE is almost inevitable. The timescale for it is debatable, but a year plus of total economic inertia would be ridiculous imo.

A new Tory PM will need a mandate in the current circumstances, and my view is that an election in the Autumn is the most likely outcome.

No, its obviously because of idiot investors panicking because of the referendum.
What I meant was, nothing has changed, so their panic is unwarranted, because we have AT LEAST two more years in the EU, at a minimum.
So panicking hours after a referendum result, before we have even invoke article 50, is down to investor stupidity.

So far, Labour and tory are saying they'll follow the democratic route and we're out of Europe. Do you expect them to change, or do you think people will vote lib dem?

I did offer some kind of answer a few posts back, but you chose to ignore it. I don't particularly want to get involved in the bickering going on, but it does seem to me that you are revelling in "I told you so"
The thing is, I haven't yet seen anyone on this thread (remain or leave) disagree with the fact that once the vote to leave became apparent, the markets were going to react. However, you do appear to come across as you are the only person that appreciated that this would happen, because you have worked as a trader.

Sorry mate but you are so wrong. International investors don't HAVE to invest in the UK, the GBP or British companies and overnight we have become a very uncertain investment so they're going elsewhere. Why should they bet on our future when we are in an almost unprecedented state of political and economic limbo? They won't so they sell UK and buy gold.

That's a bit unfair mate, now who's the one going back to the referendum? We are where we are and it's what we do now.

But for the sake of argument I'll answer it. Tbh I can see the direct correlation between a business linked directly to the EU having to make cutbacks following the Out vote. I'd argue I would not see the same with the Remain vote. It was our default position. Don't get me wrong, the EU has its faults and that they adversely affected certain sections of our industry. For me, it was never as black and white as "Great EU vs Bad, Evil Brexit". I know it was a flawed system, but I also believe we would have been better off fighting our cause in the EU from within. We just needed stronger leadership in our own. Btw the same strong leadership we will need when negotiating our exit.

Really clutching at straws Tobes, if you think this is all going to be turned around.
    Desperation......you are quite pathetic.

No one has addressed my points I made earlier about the EU and its ultimate aims.
We are better off out of the EU because the EU wants to usurp our government, eventually and install a continental government. We, and every other European country, lose all sovereignty, and democracy in Europe dies.
But hey, at least the FTSE website will have higher numbers. so <ok>

I would have expected both to say exactly that at present, they can say little else.

However, the moment a GE is called then they can put forward a manifesto that offers the electorate the democratic option of undoing what's been done. If Corbyn goes I'd fully expect Labour to put forward a manifesto that says exactly that.

My apologies too, having a bit of a dig, because of comments that Saintsfan08 has made. I try to refrain from name calling but he is a "special kind of stupid". It really irritates me that if someone voted out they are somehow the scum of the earth, whereas the remains are somehow intelligently superior.

What do you base the view that we could fight it from within on? Cameron failed miserably when he tried for one. A remain vote would be a green light for the EU to ignore us more.

Pathetic for having an opinion on how it's likely to pan out given the complete lack of political will to action it?

Your view on the EU being some sort of a shadowy federalist subversive group planning to take over the entire continent by stealth was worthy of a dope smoking clown like Sisu you blert.
