Not sure what you meant about him barking stuff and expecting us to take it as gospel. For me he kindly passes on information that he picks up from someone he knows with links at the club. I hope that he doesn't decide to not bother just because someone like you has a pop at him for no reason.

So much for a quiet summer

Lets get the prediction in for next year, as I'm a glutton for punishment. I'm going Bertrand, Forster and VVD.

 

I got excited about Juanmi - I will refrain from any judgements this time.

Now that Pelle's scored against Spain, I think that £50m is simply a derisory starting offer. Let's hold out for £75m, that should start a Liverpool v Everton scouse bidding war

Exactly what I said to the Scousers who started the Mane thread earlier this week.

 

Despite his size I don't think he likes the physicality and tempo of the PL. Elsewhere he would be 1 of the top strikers, here he is just a bit better than average PL striker.
Its a shame were selling him as we now have to buy another but I expect us to upgrade.
Austin was not bought as Pelle replacement, he was bought as a surgical doner for J-rod to replace his knee. He has since backed out.

 

Maybe we should start raiding teams like Swansea, Stoke and Palace. They all have some decent players surely we can offer them more. I know it's not the Southampton way but I would love to see sigardson in a saints shirt.

True. but not only are you strengthening your own squad your weakening a rivals. I think that's worth a bit extra.

 

We aren't going to spend that bit extra, though. Buying proven PL players in their prime just isn't in our near-term future.

Juanmi-not fussed, not up to it

Vic-personally, he blew too hot and cold for me, I think other players at Spuds will make him look better than he is. Money to be invested better elsewhere.

Manè-as someone said before, would we now pay £34.5 million rising to £38.5 million for him-not a chance! He perked up towards the end of last season, but had 2 quiet patches in 2 years. Money to be invested better elsewhere.

Pellè-I've bored people on this board before, I'm not a massive fan, mutual parting needed, I often think he slows us down too much, been a useful player to get us where we are now but I think we're looking to play quicker football than he will be able to cope with. Someone like Juve will come knocking to bring him home. Money to be invested.

FLDGC-better off w/out him, feelings about him have died off into nothing.

Puell-not my first choice but trust Les; looking forward to swift, attaching foitball with hungry players.

 

Absolutely agree about Sigardson, ticks so many boxes and been going on about us buying him for ages
