According to Marca, via Sport Witness, Southampton are on the brink of signing Nano from Tenerife in the coming days.

The report says that Nano is flying in from Spain to complete the deal after an agreement was struck between the two sides.

Southampton are thought to have offered Nano a four-year contract at St.Mary’s, earning roughly £24k-per-week.

Nano has already flown in from Spain to talk terms with Southampton and is eager to get the deal done.

The 21-year-old striker was being courted by Championship sides Aston Villa and Newcastle, but Southampton have swooped in ahead of them and now look set to complete the signing soon.

Nano scored 14 goals in 35 matches in the second-tier of Spanish football last season, attracting interest from a number of suitors.

Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez also came across to England from Tenerife and Southampton are hoping that Nano can impress as much as Perez has in his time in England.

However, some may be sceptical after the signing of Juanmi from Spain last summer. Juanmi spent just one year at the club before joining Real Sociedad this summer.

The signing of Nano could be announced this week.

 

I think the Southampton board and managers are about 3 years ahead of any of us! Every year we sell our "best" players, make a massive profit and end up higher in the league the next year. We keep a core of "steady" players and wheel and deal with young "flash" players (and managers). Works for me. If Jay Rod, Nathan and Charlie come good this year I see a Leicester team in the making!

 

Nano? Doesn't sound like a big signing to me.

If Liverpool don't make the top 6, this season, then Klopp should be sacked, if only to destabilise them further.
Seriously, with Saints, West Ham and Leicester all being involved in Europe, anything but top 6 will be a disaster for Liverpool.
Now, if Saints could win the Europa, to allow two teams from lower down the division win the domestic cups, 6th might not/wouldn't even qualify for Europe.

 

Quite liked the look of that Marcelo Brozovic from Croatia, were not linked , just stood out for me.

I haven't heard anything about players coming in. But if we get Thomas we won't miss Wanyama, the guy is class. Pelle is 80% gone though.

Puzzles me slightly that Pelle would leave before new manager signs, what if the new guy liked the look of him? Or was it lined up ever since Austin was signed (or ever since Koeman left)?

 

Austin isn't a Pelle replacement.

There is nothing that's happened this summer, bar Ronald pissing off (and nothing we can do there really) that's a surprise. I don't get why people are surprised.
