As we seem to be blessed with the presence of economic experts on here, here's a question.

Given their informed opinion (which is spookily close to the bleeding obvious) is that markets are falling, what's your solution?

We're not remaining in the EU, and we're not coming out for quite a while yet, so the "fear" at the moment is about imagined possibilities, and with that in mind, my uneducated mind thinks that creating a sense of stability could have some benefits, and those just predicting more doom and gloom, which can only add to the demise and makes them part of the problem, need to share their wisdom on what can be done.

I also think that it shows the whole financial system is ripe for an overhaul. Too few have too much influence on too many.

    Dear Remain voter,

I'm sorry you did not get your own way in the EU referendum, don't blame the people who voted to leave!

Blame the 28% of eligible voters who did not bother to turn up

Blame the 232 people who left their ballot paper blank

Blame the 9,084 people who crossed both boxes in protest

Blame the 836 people who added their names to the ballot paper

Blame the 15,207 who voided their vote for other reasons

Leave voters are not selfish, racist, xenophobic, bigoted or stupid.

They voted for our children & grandchildren, they voted for our democracy, they voted for our sovereignty, they voted for our fishermen, they voted for our farmers, they voted for our steel industry, they voted for our NHS, they voted for our schools, they voted for our laws, they voted for our borders, they voted for our economy, they voted for our rights, they voted for our freedom of speech & they voted for a Greater Britain.

    They didn't vote for YOU!

I wish I had an answer. As do, I suspect, our politicians.

Obviously, Osborne, Carney, etc have tried to provide some calm to the markets. At the moment though, things are still heading south.

There isn't much that can be done other than to try and come to some accommodation with the EU to determine our future relationship. In other words, to end the uncertainty.

So in what way does just repeatedly pointing at the markets help?

A bit like our government - Constituency boundaries, party funding, Government terms, workers rights, human rights, voting eligibility...

You are right, a dodgy path to go down

The markets directly affect our economy. The outflows of capital diminish the overall economy. Some of the fall we are seeing in Sterling will have come from investors selling Sterling assets.

I don't need to go over the consequences of a falling pound on a net import economy. Nor the effects of falling equity markets on pensions, etc.

Yep, I think most accepted all that pages back.

You've said that your expertise falls short when it comes to a solution and you have no idea how to resolve it, hence my question, in what way does repeatedly stating the obvious and pointing at markets actually help anything rather than being a part of the problem?

Nobody has an answer to resolve it. If the governor of the BOE & The Chancellor can't do it, why is it you suspect I can? Or are you just reverting to type?

You asked me a question, I gave you an answer.

You agree that a period of stability is needed to build confidence (which is an answer) , so I'm asking in what way does repeating the obvious and pointing at the markets help, rather than add to the problem.
