My mortgage endowments are due to pay next year. I hope the market recovers in time or I won't be able to clear my mortgage.
I truly hope it does for you but the fear of contagion and the domino effect it causes is a very real beast...
This happened to me, I had a mortgage, my second one on where I now live.. it came up £6000 short in circa 2008 crash, after 25 years it was supposed to almost treble what I had for sum assured it almost made double! .. was sold to me via Hargreaves Landsdown .. they made the money I didn't ! Building Society gave me a 60 month loan on what was owed with no problems ..sad.. another 5 years to pay out ... by next year markets should be stable if Nicola doesn't keep rocking the boat
'My mortgage endowments are due to pay next year. I hope the market recovers in time or I won't be able to clear my mortgage' R&W - did you comment a while back you have more than 1 house ?
I have 3 houses. My endowments are due on my domestic home. The other 2 houses are 'interest only' - I am in the process of undertaking extensive repairs to one of the B2Ls after it was completely smashed to bits by some 'tenants' for want of a better word, who simply walked away. I am about to remortgage that one in order to pay for the repairs - money which I have already spent and currently owe - so hopefully house prices will hold for a few more weeks. I was lucky - I bought the 2 other houses in 1999 as a lucky gamble - the wife was the main earner at that time and she suffered some medical problems and lost her job as a result - I gambled on property investment in an attempt to partly substitute her income and although on a monthly basis it didn't, I have gained over the years by way of equity. This has proved essential with 2 of my 3 kids at Uni (and when I lost my job in 2003 of course - whilst the missus was still off work).
Can you explain how Britain First had any significant impact, what strategy they used and where, and what % of the vote you feel they affected? In regards to the Labour vote, and I and my family are in that camp for decades/generations my opinion is that the Labour party above its grass roots is out touch with the Labour electorate, and more importantly with the whole philosophy and history of the Labour party. It was by the people for the people. Not by/for a exclusive neo liberal metropolitan elite. That has had a massive affect on elections and referendums. Not Britain First who barely go beyond pranks staged for facebook.
would agree with this, the MP'S ARE DICTATED TO as to who the membership would like as leader .. so therefore they are non democratic when who is elected that they do not like .. referendum was the excuse they needed .... cowards ...
Britain First unaccountably spread **** that is bought by thickos and racists. I have no respect for anyone who likes their Facebook page.
You did not answer the questions ... Again. Britain First had no bearing on a first past the post democratic referendum.
I'm unsure what the question specifically was, but particularly in my age group, I'm certain Britain First has had an effect. The amount of the chavs and thick kids from my school that like and share their posts is ridiculous. They literally buy into every immigrant-bashing post that is on there.
To influence the vote Britain First would have to have enough leverage to get more people than live in Birmingham to follow their leadership. Britain first can't even muster a hundred people at some of their rallies.
An 18 year old student in a very flimsy night dress in a rough and ready hostel took 25 mins to make a piece of toast and had to reboil the kettle 3 times . remove piece of bread from packet and insert into toaster = 7 secs switch on toaster, switch on kettle, already part full, = 4 secs select cup from hanger and add teabag 12 secs add water 2 mins 10 secs include remove and butter toast extra 10 secs time about 3 mins start to finish 25 mins, 22 mins head bobbing up and down on twatter or facebook at 8am! likely 30,000 people or more knew she was making toast !
Okay but I think you may be being pedantic in your use of 'influence' to be fair.. To influence the outcome then yes of course you're right. I wasn't referring to that, I was referring to the fact that it's undeniable that Britain First have influenced a substantial number of people's thoughts. You don't have to be a rally attendee to voice your opinions or use your vote.
Your fact is an opinion unless you can quantify it. One poster has consistently attempted to imply that a leave vote was often linked to racism. I do not accept that the majority of Cities and Towns in the UK are racist at all. The numbers are miniscule. The numbers where of no consequence to the outcome of a democratic process.
Okay you really are being pedantic now. I 100% agree with you and I think the numbers in essence are nowhere near those required to swing a referendum. But it seems you are being deliberately obtuse about Britain First having any effect whatsoever.
I 100% agree with you ... Yes a % of a % is nothing of consequence. The EU is predominately white. People in the Remain camp even used arguments regarding nations like Turkey. The remain vote was clearly an attempt to uphold a status quo that discriminates against people of colour/races because of their birthplace. Ridiculous? Yes. Just as another posters are classless.
And yet you accuse MTG of failing to address points in previous posts. And I'm confused by the bit in bold. Surely the leave camp was more that way inclined, in fact to further discriminate by lowering immigration?
