Poor overall imo. Enjoyed Muse on Friday and Jeff Lynne's ELO on sunday. Like the idea presenter Mark Radcliffe had of say Roy Wood with Wizard / The Move next year. Rod Stewart and what is left of The Faces would also be a good choice.
I caught much of Jeff Lynne and I thought the crowd were 90% bored to tears and 10% embarrassing dad dancing. To be fair, Ive done muddy Glastonbury's in the past and it's both mentally and physically exhausting by the Sunday.
Agreed on the exhausting part of the weekend. However, ELO were one of the few acts that have lasted the test of time. Most of the songs go back 40+ years and still sound great. Personal choice music though.
ELO had some disgusting weather against them. And Jeff doesn't exactly have the patter... The music was fine.
Just seen the mess left behind. They are probably amazed that it doesn't miraculously clear itself up like happens when they leave things behind at home. Not exactly environmentally friendly though, though Ibet a lot of them spout a lot about the environment and green issues.
I've just had an email from Wembley, they're just signed up ELO to play the stadium on Saturday 24 June 2017.
Amazing how these bands from years ago keep on selling out large venues, despite being dismissed by the bright young things as old farts.
Rihanna played to an almost empty Wembley stadium. Maybe her people should have told her about Glastonbury.

I really wasn't trying to dis them although I may think they deserve it. I was seriously surprised to find they still had the credibility to get a gig like that. I thought their bubble had burst years ags. Re the two types of music, for me it boils down to the unmeasurable and elusive quality of soul. Or a least passion. Lacking that and it's just product. Even then I am as partial to a bit of well played and structured pop as anyone else, I don't think it compares to the Sega/Nintendo analogy at all. At least among people who have passed puberty anyway. (But I wouldn't want to get into any pointless argument with anyone who did.)
