I reckon that should just have a Pay-Per-View Sky Sports fight night. Ashley versus Barton .... winner keeps all and may remain at the club, loser goes into oblivion! .... I'd pay to watch that
'Newcastle United have made midfielder Joey Barton available on a free transfer. The 28-year-old has just a year left on his current deal, and he has been unable to agree fresh terms with the club. Barton has also been left disappointed by the Magpies' transfer policy and has criticised them heavily on his Twitter account. Now Newcastle have decided that his future does lie away from Tyneside and have made him available on a free transfer. Barton was due to make an announcement at 4pm on his future, but Newcastle have now confirmed he is free to go. The England cap joined Newcastle in 2007 from Manchester City and has gone on to make 79 league appearances for the club.'
Could be a major bluff on the part of Mike and Llambias. Don't be surprised if Joey's playing on the 20th.
Nothing Mike Ashley does surprises me anymore. If we somehow miraculously start the season well, he'll sack Pardew. He'll sell all the good players he can't flog now in January and then we'll get relegated and have to fight it out in the Championship with the reserve and youth players. Dream scenario for you lot! I'm just lucky to also support Blyth Spartans who don't make me thoroughly miserable every week! It's nice to have a small piece of enjoyment from football, because it certainly doesn't come from Newcastle and England!
i would the lad is a top player. Yes he has been a twat in the past but last 2 seasons he has let his football do the talking
When I read the usually excellent and fair comments from the likes of Sombrero and your good self, I find myself feeling sympathetic for what you must be going through...I must be getting soft in my old age eh!
Usually I'd say yes because let's face it he's class, but the clownery over at Newcastle is too much to begin with for the fans. Poor ****ers.
Similarities between Barton, Ashley and the British judicial system are there for all to see. Is this an early release for good behaviour??
Talking about Newcastle, Mike Ashley and Lambias are men of principal, does wee Davie have a drink or drugs problem?
