The EU have just as much to lose as the UK by stalling on a Trade deal out of some ridiculous, misplaced spite.
The sentence in your post that i highlighted is spot on though, we will need to keep the free movement of people in order to avoid tariffs, which is what I was trying to say. The only way we will ever completely "control our borders" is if we do not trade with Europe, and thats out of the question.
But thats definitely NOT the reason we should have left the EU.
It is ****ed, however much you protest otherwise. The Eurozone is just one reason why. What kind of economic fall out will happen because of that? It will pale in comparison to our little exit.
20 countries all being without a currency all of a sudden = mass chaos.

The EU's ultimate goals do not mesh with the UK's. The **** they want to pull off is beyond insidious and downright criminal, akin to a global political coup.

The issues are the same as they have always been (does tax revenue pay for the standard of service the
electorate believes it should have, is every pound given a pound wisely spent - and if not which mixture of
service/function allocation to public/private sector entities will maintain/improve the standard while
freezing/reducing costs, the 'credit/reward without responsibility/cost' executives culture etc) .

 

We export 50% of our goods to the EU - the EU exports 14% of it's goods to the EU, so who's got the most to gain and lose here?

In any case, where has anyone ever suggested that there'd be a refusal to trade or agree a new deal - it's the terms that's the issue, and you've agreed with me anyway, so I'm not sure what you're labelling as 'bullshit'?

If the Eurozone was dismantled (or reduced) then it'd be done in a controlled manner and we have no liability for the Eurozone anyway so what's your point?

We may not have left yet but we have said we will leave. How many situations are there where you can say you are leaving but it is up to you to say when so your employers are unable to plan for the future. Are we waiting to discover gold and diamonds under a national park to bring the pound back up. Would be funny if they were found in Greece or Spain though.

 

If you are referring to Farage Rocher, if he wants a USA-style regime then he is free

Farage wants to scrap the NHS. He said so in 2012 but video came out in 2014. He was told by the party to drop it as a policy but reiterated it in 2015.
