For those getting in flap about us selling players this summer, you must have had a flap for the last two summers.

Surely when you've been proved wrong twice, that's when you start to re- think your opinion?

    1) Spending Money equals success
    2) Keeping players is the only way a team can improve

Why do some still cling to these two schools of thought so vehemently?

Thank **** for that! I really wish you'd stop harping on about spending more money! I seriously urge you to write to the club with your views and ask them for some explanations.

I can't believe I have woken up this morning and read the amount of bollocks I have just read by a bunch of whinging, delusional Saints fans.

    I'm embarrassed by them.

That's a bit OTT. Regardless of how we have recovered in the past you can hardly expect fans to be happy we are selling our best players.

It was common knowledge that Wanyama, Mane and Pelle were likely to leave this summer....doesn't mean that I didn't hope.....with my biggest hope resting on Mane. Life goes on. :(

No they aren't, no I don't believe they did and that is obviously a stupid question. I don't see your point tbh? I was just pointing out that they have recruited well and have done it slightly differently to us with buying the "flops" from bigger clubs and have built a good side. They also haven't had a Ramirez/Osvaldo either.

SaintMagic, I may have been harsh to pick up on your post , but even so, my point is simple: the board are doing something right with recruitment because of how we are doing. What does it matter if Stoke don't appear to have had a dud - I bet they have, but we don't watch them enough. There'll be someone the fans are miffed with. That's fans. Our club have done a great job.

Sorry if I picked your post out (I picked a few), but to be honest I read last night's posts this morning and I just can't believe how negative (you weren't) a bunch of our fans are. They won't like me for saying it, but I find it pathetic, I really do. They really don't know just how good we have it and people like History Repeating saying the club need top grow a backbone, need to move out of their glass house.

I've had enough of it to be honest.

I have heard from an ITK that as part of the negotiations the big clubs issue prospective signings with green tinted glasses when showing them around their training facilities and pitches. It appears to work..............until they take their glasses back for the next prospective signing!

Just because I'm not in a happy clappy mood doesn't mean my opinion is any less valid that yours. I'm just extremely unsure about Puel and the massive gap left by Mane (and no, Redmond is not nearly enough to fill it).

Jesus everyone losing their **** overnight <yikes>

We all knew that Vic & Mane would be gone this Summer, better to get it done early so we can crack on with our business.

As I've said many times before though, no more 1st teamers please.

Also really happy with Redmond signing, and i assume he was brought in as the winger we needed rather than Mane replacement.

I haven't once told you or anyone your view is less valid. I have just decided enough is enough of the negativity and am exercising my right to say what I think of it. I find it Pathetic. So many of you are short sighted and have short memories, continually looking for the bad in something. Of course one day the gold dust might run out or not work, but FFS let's moan when that happens. It is the same every year and just shows a lack of belief and in my opinion, support.

I know nothing about running a top football club, I even gave up on Football Manager because I couldn't be bothered with all the detail required to do well. However, I do know what a well run club looks like. It lives within its means; it tempers its ambition to within its budget by setting realistic aims and building slowly from within; it looks after the infrastructure of the developmental route for players; it buys players to develop so that their value appreciates rather than depreciates; it has a strict moral compass within which it operates; it sets targets to play entertaining, attacking football; it has a belief in using home grown talent where possible. It's the sort of club I could really get behind.

On the other hand I could jump on a big club bandwagon, don the shirt and brag about who we have bought and how much we paid, celebrate the fantastic history of the club (even though I was never there) and watch a disjointed underachieving set of players week in week out; oh......and finish below the previously mentioned well run team.

There is only one laughing stock in this scenario and it ain't the well run club!

Don't really see Pelle as a key 1st teamer for upcoming season. With his age & knee I expect both Charlie & Shane to be ahead of him. Nothing like what Vic & Mane are to us.

I think you took my post slightly out of context. Someone said why don't Stoke/West Ham/Everton lose their best players every summer and others said Stoke don't have a good team, so I was just offering my thoughts on their recruitment and how it is different to ours, whilst still being effective. I agree with you about the board in general, but after 7 years of progression and chat about "top 4 ambition" you can't be surprised that lots of fans bought into it as almost gospel, and are now ****ed off at losing the manager and star player in the summer?

Fair comment and I don't see him as that this season, which is why I think he may make a move. If he does, big pat on the back, big hug, a few tears and off you go son, thanks very much for everything. Right next.

    Yes, I think you're right. <ok>

I am not surprised at those fans losing their ****, but I am also not in agreement with them.
