Yeah everyone goes on about our recruitment and how great it is, but I think Stoke's is arguably better. Can't think of any duds they have signed in the last couple of years and have a built a very good side. They also tend to go down the route brendy just touched on with signing players who have "failed" a bigger clubs, so might not be in such a rush to go back to a big club (Arnautovic, Shaqiri, Muniesa, Bojan off the top of my head)

Leicester won the title and qualified for the CL. Totally different comparison. No way does Vardy turn Arsenal down otherwise.

Who would the big boys want from West Ham except for Payet? Name me one. (Lanzini doesn't count because they've only just signed him permanently themselves)

Stoke? That European attacking trio are all far too inconsistent to be of interest to the big boys.

If you want a comparison, for me it is Everton. I have never understood how they held onto Baines, then Coleman, now more recently Stones, Barkley, Lukaku, even Miralles. And you know what, I'm half expecting them to hold onto them all again this summer too (although at least they'd be an obvious reason for them to stay this time, with the money that the new owner is seemingly chucking at that).

Any idea what the release clause is in his deal? Not that I expect it to be triggered, just curious as one of the SaintsWeb ITKs suggested it was "true giants of football" territory in terms of the teams that'd be able to afford him, but I haven't the foggiest what that translates to these days.

Don't give me all this wages bollocks, we can match what they offer players we just chose not to, sooner or later we need to start competing in this aspect or we have run our race already.

His contract was up in the summer so didn't need to bid, he could've just gone on a free, but he signed a new deal instead.

No point in even replying to you, if you can't accept what you have been told 4 times.

He will not be sold this season.

You want us to start paying £125,000 a week on most players? You do realise they don't move for just the money, but the exposure, big club, chances of winning trophies etc?

Think Mane is the one im most pleased about signing made from you guys over last few years. Will add real pace and tore us apart last time we played you guys. From sounds of it, quite inconsistent though? Without trying to sound disrespectful, so you think he can step up in the way Lallana/lovren struggled to do when they joined? Seen a few say he could have gone to bigger teams so guessing you do rate him as a real good player?

Must be **** constantly losing your best players but to be fair you find a way to replace them year in year out and I think Redmond is a decent prem player with potential and still have money left over to add to that.

£30m is a lot, ihoping this came from our owners $ so the exchange rate makes it a bit cheaper <whistle>

I look forward to Mane's reasons for moving to a team not currently in Europe, and sincerely hope he doesn't include the word ambition, when he is turning his back on a season in the Europa.
I never like losing decent players, especially ones that have the potential to get better and be really good, but to do that he will need to become a lot more consistent than he was for us.
Fingers crossed that he won't, and Liverpool will be left with another, underperforming ex Saint.
