Wouldn't even say they have a good squad. They have a very average squad with a couple of quality player such as countinho, sturridge and Firmino. Defensively they are an absolute shambles, Clyne is their only consistent and quality defender.

 

At least its euro's!

 

I agree MLsfc which is why I find it odd that they are going straight after an attacking player. I know they won't just sign one, but surely a CB or three is top of their list.

Mane is a good player, and on his day unplayable. Can't really blame him for wanting to go to Liverpool either.

Basically if we ever want to be a regular fixture in the top 6/8 and maybe even one day be compared to the bigger teams in this league we need to continue signing players like Mane and selling them on for big profits. maintaining our place in the league whilst they are here and growing the Saints brand globally, until we have the revenue streams to be in a position where we can offer the players who are good enough for a CL team the sort of contracts that would keep them here.
