We do gumtree too. We don't buy **** that can't sell and ebay gives a wider viewing for some of our more specialist items(We buy and sell a lot of specialist collaboration designer fashion). We buy more from Gumtree than sell on Gumtree. The key is to use them all, there's loads of sites like Etsy, Bonanza and Asos market place. Use them all is the key imo. We jump on items in the wrong category or with typos or mistakes in the listing.
To me it's a simple case of a network. You've basically just got to be a nosey bastard and get your beak into other people's affairs. The amount of 'pocket money' I make just knowing and speaking to people is fantastic. **** grafting for a chump who'll rake it in and make you his bitch. Here loyal little boy, you've worked well and I've been able to afford a yacht, here's a 30p per hour wage hike.
Also if I need stuff doing, around the house I will make sure I am friends with somebody who can do it for me, like an electrician or a plasterer... I save **** loads just by using people like that for free labour Anybody know a roofer who's looking for a mate by the way? Preferable not a retired one who supports Swansea.
Ha! I state what the specialist items are. Limited addition designer clothes. Also back end of every summer Wilko sells 4 quid packets of seeds for 5p a pack. We buy them(by the hundreds) and sell em for a couple of quid a pack. money for free virtually and brings in 400 to 500 quid a year in just off the seeds.
I dunno, I am one so its easy for me! Some people make a fortune doing car boot sales spotting decent collectibles and stuff, I know somebody who has a furniture shop he started from just house clearance, all he had was a van and his two hands.
I've constantly got my fingers in a few pies. Still employed by the same company i've been at for 10 years but been on the sick for the last few years and won't be going back. Get canny pay off them though, under a PPI scheme. I'll be getting a pay-off when the time comes. Probably looking at about 15-18k. It's bonus money to me, I made the decision a couple of years ago to go solo, it's best for me as 9-5 working conditions get a bit much for my health at times. I'm happy doing what I'm doing at my pace.
Worlds moved on mate. Same as tesco and co have decimated the shops But only nads and bri have had positive input so far. If it turns political. I will close the thread. Help a mate make money was the idea.
just my take on it..Many wonder why shops are struggling and this for me is the reason why..I'm not saying there are rights and wrongs regarding this and quite understand that people will take advantage when there is money to be made..
The simple truth is you get the same things, or better, online. High Street shops have overheads and will never compete, so sadly that decline will continue.
People have to make money. The lazy ones dont deserve any Hints and tips. Thats all i was after for me muckas.
