I know who you are I replied as user as not to refer to you as he or she, I accept I should have just used your username, so get off your high horse, I was avoiding making gender assumptions but it appears you do judge people despite you saying otherwise - where you live does have a relevance in my opinion and it comes across as though you are making assumptions on how I think because I voted OUT
Spotlight on the UK? Of course that was where there was a referendum! The possible negative impact of a BreExit and further domino effect in Europe, on future peace in Europe and the rest of the Globe from a break up of Europe, were raised by the Remain during the campagin, though not clearly enough.
Don't throw my comment out of context of reply, the comment you agreed with referred to the 'World' - I gave a few opinions based on the use of that word.
just goes to show how bitter and nasty the IN campaign was. But of course all us OUT voters, are old, Farage supporters and racists according to them
I actually believe for the first time in my life, that if anyone tries to overthrow the 17 Million OUT vote with another referendum, you could actually see civil unrest. So while people comment from abroad they need to understand the passion back in England, any attempt to go against the democratic vote on the 23rd June will have serious repercussions.
Fine, some of us Remainers are happy(ish) to accept the democratic vote, which no one will over turn, I'm just interested in how you think Brexit should play out.
I'm not saying that all out voters were racists - some had very good reasons for their beliefs but the immigration card was played as their central theme. Which meant East European immigration - it meant portraying this as a swarm which threatened to engulf the whole fabric of our society (although the East European population in the UK. is only about 1 person to every 40 and actually brings more money into the country than it takes out). It meant, in short, using propaganda without any real facts behind it in order to stir up some of the more radical elements of our society. I would not say that all Brexiters were racists, but would hazard a guess that all racists were Brexiters.
I would like other Countries to follow suit, I do not want a one identity, I do not want a one army, I do not want a cloned European State, I do not want a self righteous US of A. I love Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and many other countries I have visited at some point in my life, I love the culture, I love the language (i do not expect them to speak English) - I love the food (I do not expect English cuisine) - I love each individual identity to embrace, to trade with all these countries without a rule of thumb. Yes separate identities to embrace but not as one European culture rules all. As for the financial side I will leave the BoE to sort out the best way forward, who will not always agree with government opinion, the ship has been deserted by Cameron, which I feel is a shame, because regardless of their views we need the strongest people to take us forward. I believe if we had stayed in the EU as it got more and more powerful in years or decades to come it will have eroded our individual identities. I do not belong to an azure background of 12 golden stars nor do I want to fly it.
There won't be another referendum otherwise i would want another one if we remain. It's done and we should get on with it. We had a democratic vote and people should accept it otherwise, we don't live in a democracy. I understand how some feel, i was a remain voter a few weeks back and decided late on to leave. I really like Europe i have French family members and i will continue to go to France/Germany/Italy. I just want my country governed by people i voted for. One other thing that is making me laugh. All these videos coming up on twitter/facebook showing some stupid 'leave' voters not knowing why they voted or just looking stupid. There are just as many remain voters out there who would be the same. great debate by the way
Do you want to put up walls on commenting from abroad as well?!There is passion on both sides of this argument all right, and having been long periods in Thailand and England, and now Norway during the campaign, I can ensure you where you are makes absolutely no difference to that. More important on this was there was too little serious discussion and thought process in the media throughout the campaign. Panel debates became full of posturing , positioning, and Remains reasonable attempts to describe what Exit could result in, became Fear Mongering. Despure the slagging on here, I do agree with others who say they have found more good info on this thread than otherwise in the Media. Thanks to Stan, Chaz, Cologne and many others for this.

How many of the 13 million who couldn't be bothered to get off their arses and vote now wish they had Leave won No going back now Can't you get a German passport cologne
What has struck me throughout this whole process is how the majority of remainers seemed to have been talking about money and their own financial situations. Sometimes in life, one has to rise above these things and vote on a principal. I stated early on in this thread that I was willing to take a financial hit to vote on what I believed in. Now we have voted to leave, many remainers are still whinging and moaning about their financial prospects outside the EU. I voted out on a principal and I am very proud to have done so.
That about nails it for me Some young OUT voters have said exactly the same to me, they were undecided but because of the way the IN vote conducted themselves they voted OUT and the bitterness still continues from home and ABROAD. The IN voters were all about self, self, self. Thankfully I do know people that expected to lose money over voting OUT but were not thinking about themselves, but their children's, children, something I never ever heard mentioned by a remain campaigner.
Don't worry yourself! That the vote was lost is noted! It doesn't mean we have to stop shouting for nations to talk and work together for a better Europe and Globe.
