It all starts again. Yep just 7.

City away. Time for transfers to start happening.

Its only 3 1/2 weeks till the first pre season game at Hartlepool.

    .........

But the champions league elect kick off a week before hand.

While they are playing Fulham in the Sky bet championship. The same day SAFC are playing Dortmund..<laugh>

I feel exciting times ahead over the next seven weeks. Great signings plus great preseason will set us up very nicely. If Sam sticks to the core of the team that he played over the last eleven games we will hit that 10th top spot. Obviously adding some quality into the squad will only help but I really liked what I saw towards the end of the season. We were hard to score against, had cutting edge up front and most of all played as a team with passion.....yes....roll on seven weeks....haway the lads!!!!!

I just hope the squad is set by opening day. I can't wait for the season to start. I saw every minute of Sunderland football last season. The relegation battle was as intriguing as the rise of Jordan's Bulls or the '85 Bears.

    Yarp.

Im afraid to ask, but what the hell are Jordans Bulls and 85 Bears?

It sounds like a dodgy russian circus.

We all know it's important to get that good start and the momentum that it will bring. It would be nice to have a season where we are not putting out fires both on and off the pitch. Within the next seven days Martin Bain starts at the SOL. This could have a very significant impact prior to the season as well. A football man in the boardroom is just what we need. It's just as important to get the boardroom sorted as well as the team. The fans deserve more transparency about what is going on at the club behind the scenes......we want no more fiasco's at this level.....

A lot of work to be done.

If you had to put a team out right now. How would you line up?

We haven't signed anybody yet, so it would be the same team as last season but without M'Vila and Yedlin.

It took Micheal Jordan a while to climb to the pinnacle of the NBA with a young Chicago Bulls team. The journey was a blast. The 1985 Chicago Bears were one of the most dominate NFL Champions in the history of American football. They are still very beloved here in Chicago because of all the characters in the squad.

    Mannone
    Jones Kaboul Kone PVA
    Borini, Catts Larsson Kirchoff Khazri
    Defoe

Pray mat is out for us to sign M'Vila...

Out of this team clearly Jones is not good enough and I think Larsson will move on......but the rest is a very strong core....

The Fridge was 300 plus pounds with a 36' vertical leap. He was just 6' tall but could slam dunk a basketball all day long.

Why would someone weighing 300lbs want to jump?

Sam will move Jones on....Comm I not sure about Yedlin....watched him here with the COPA competition. He got sent off once with two stupid yellows. Yes, he's quick but dives straight in the tackles and commits himself. Sometimes ball watches and not aware of runners around him. Maybe Sam sees potential there as he is still relatively inexperienced. Maybe he can improve like PVA. Wouldn't pay a lot of money for him that's for sure so it would have to be a good deal for us. Matthews will go with Vergini, Buckley, Bridcutt, etc.....we have bought some ****e over the years that's for sure.
