Of course you knew I meant the difference in meaning. At least I hope you did.<laugh>

Always laughed at a bit in a book by a Yank who was writing about the differences in this country and the USA in the use of the same language. He wrote of when he first came to this country in thev1950s. He was having a meal on a train and on the menu it said there was a range of condiments to compliment your meal. He said he wasn't sure the meal deserved any compliments but he gave his supplements to the chef anyway.

    And British politicians
I didn't support leaving, but those two things are the positive bits as far as I can see

Quite possibly, but it doesn't pay the bills.

For me, what's most concerning, is that we've come out with absolutely no plan for what happens next. Nobody knows what replacement deal will be done with the EU, which is fair enough, nobody expected we'd be able to find out until we left. But I've not heard anyone say anything at all about any potential new trade deal with anyone else.

We left the EU with promises of increased worldwide trade as a result of being able to negotiate our own trade deals, but nobody has suggested what sort of deals we'll do and who we'll do them with. People also seem to be overlooking the fact that the new trade deal we do with the EU will have restrictions in it that will limit what we can do anyway.

It was quite an achievement getting people to vote leave, when in the end we'll still be sending money to Brussels, we'll still be allowing free movement to large numbers of EU members and we haven't got a single suggestion on what benefits there will actually be.

Even with the proper facts, you could still end up voting for either. Corbyn is anti the current set up of the EU. It's then down to opinion if it's best to change it from the inside or the outside.

All temporary, as the EU as was, will not be the EU of the future.

    What does that mean though?
The 20 countries but makes sense, but I'm not sure what the % of the population refers to (it's 65% I think, but is that of all voters/residents/65% in each country/ 65% across EU ?)
    Just my lack of knowledge

As I suggested earlier, you don't seem to recognise that education and intelligence are two different things.

Ironic when your own attitude illustrates that distinction very clearly.

I suspect if the referendum was done with Allam style choices the overall winner would have been stay in the EU but with less immigration - for many the vote wasn't about stay or remain but about less immigration, and to achieve that they voted leave - ultimately the Remain camp failed to get that message across - and as for Corbyn all he came out with was preservation of workers rights, he was particularly useless in the debate

The current list of potential candidates to replace Cameron makes depressing reading, they're all ****.
