Following on from the match on saturday i felt the urge to express my opinon of our owners. I was at the Fans village for 1:30pm with my 2 exicted boys ready for some fun on the events laid on. I needed a pee stop before we got started and told my lads to wait at the bull ride, while i popped off to the toilet. When i returned my eldest lad Ben was chatting with Top! as i walked over Top shooked his hand and carried on walking over to other fans posing for photos and chatting with anyone he came across. I quizzed my lad as to what was discussed, he tlod me Top walked over to him and asked him if he was looking forward to the game, what the score would be and thanked him for buying the new kit!! I have supported Leicester for 30 years! and have never seen an owner walking amonst the masses, watch every pre season friendly and overseen every purchase, event etc.. The more i see and read about this man the more i like!
Wow! that is actually very impressive! I suppose they care about the supporters reactions to the events that they put on, to have him walking about with us "normals" just shows what a top bloke he is I couldn't say a bad thing about Top and his dad, although i don't think they joined in the mexican wave
Culley We must have been standing next to each other, it took Top around 20 mins to move 8ft! i commented to the wife I have never seen this happen with an owner before, I think she thought he was a player at first! I think we should get a song sorted for match days - any suggestions
All these rival fans who come on this board and say that our owners don't give a **** about our club and that they will bail out as soon as they can, well it's gestures like the one's mentioned that show that they care about us fans (Top was actually an LCFC supporter before he bought the club). He didn't have to go around meeting all the fans but he did which shows he cares. I think we are in very safe hands and I feel we have one of the best, if not the best, owners in the country.
I never believe any of this 'the owners care about our club' stuff, but I do think they really respect the fans and our traditions. They seem like decent people and are running the club well, and that's all I ask really. I just can't see them screwing us over. My only worry with them when Sven leaves (hopefully a few years from now) - who will they appoint as manager?
I don't know why but I can see Neil Lennon being the next Leicester manager - obviously his connections with the club are strong and I think he'll make a very good manager. Is a carbon copy of O'Neill and a bright future ahead I think for him. And I think Top might take a back seat in appointing the next manager and it will probably be Andrew Neville who's in charge of choosing managers.
