150 was a false representation, it's hovered around 146 for a while now, it jumped with people buying it when people thought Remain was nailed on, the £ would have gained value. I don't think anybody will be doing any buying for a while, now. The markets way to risky. My brothers have both text me straightaway, expecting our house prices to crash again. Looking to get back into it 12-18 months (if it's looking that way)

Well, really, Thatcher had the nearest thing to a 'bye' the first time. When the miners drove Heath out of office, I remember a miners leader telling the Labour Party conference "And don't forget who put you there". And they didn't. By 1978, the unions were running riot. In Liverpool, there ware piles of garbage 4 or 5 feet high on the pavements because refuse collectors were on strike for pay which the Council simply couldn't pay. Corpses were being frozen and stored because grave-diggers were on strike - it was the closest I've ever seen to Britain at a standstill. Seriously, if Adolf Hitler or even Mighty Mouse had stood against Callaghan, they'd have won. Nobody (including me) liked Thatcher. She was a career barrister who spoke with the most god-awful plum in her mouth, and had hair that had been permed and laquered to the level of fortified steel. Awful woman - but it was her or Moscow. That was the electorate's choice in 1978. She won that year because she could hardly help it.
