Europe already insisting on a swift exit and no special treatment for Britain. Everyone seems so unprepared for this and is reacting accordingly
Not only a 2% margin but that's about one eighth of the non-voters. The turnout for such a significant vote was simply appalling. But then again as the bloke to the left of me wrote "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice." Anyway, does this mean then that we can have fewer crap overseas players in our leagues now? And can I get proper bent cucumbers? The bookies got this one totally wrong: at ten o'clock last night the Exit price on Ladbrokes was 7/1 with the Remain being 1/12 on.
I've just looked at the extended results. The only reason why it's so close is because of Scotland. Take away the scots and it would be a landslide victory for leaving the EU. So much of England wants out it's scary! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/23/leave-or-remain-eu-referendum-results-and-live-maps/
Never trust the English with a vote, think it's getting worse. People are saying they voted out because of Cameron's cutbacks, great it's now going to be worse. Really don't get the logic of people in this country.
I personally voted to stay because I thought it was the safest bet. No one knows if things would get better, and not enough people in the Uk want to leave. It will also make a lot of things far more complicated. However the plus side is being separated from some of the crap that's spread in Europe right now.
Depends where you are in the country - sadly the Government have shat on some many areas outside of the London borough and then blamed the EU that they feel isolated and out is the better option.
our grand parents and great grand parents did not fight world wars to be told ..who can enter our country and who can not by europe . it will take time to build up economy.. but we will im survive .
This was the last chance for British democracy. Luckily it has been taken. The amount of money that will be saved by not funding the inept nations within Europe will be staggering. I include Scotland in that sentence, moreover I hope they leave too
Turning into a bit of a short term cluster **** really. They are talking abut downgrading our triple A rating, the french have overtaken us as the 5th biggest economy, Cameron has resigned, Corbyn has a vote of no confidence, Scotland want another vote, the pound and the markets have plunged, talk of a united Ireland, tough talk coming out of Europe contradicting our planned "gentle" exit Great fun this. Lets just hope this all settles down eh. It probably will in the main.
have you all missed the point that we were not given a vote to see if we wanted to join the 'common market' as it was called then this was steam rolled onto the people in the 70's and now that we have been given a vote, we have voted out, I remember all the daft things that the European market imposed onto us without redress, butter mountains, milk lakes, fishing quotas, straight bananas FFS I also remember the European courts stopping us from deporting a known terrorist for 8 years (Abu Hamza - the hook and eye patch guy) and we the people were paying for the privilege of supplying him with legal aid whilst he was here, which ran into millions it doesn't matter if the vote to leave was won by 2% or not it's still a majority call Newcastle voted to remain by 1.8% , we can't say that was not enough votes to say we should leave
To be fair, that was the European Court of Human Rights which is separate from the EU and which we haven't voted to withdraw from.
but its all part of Europe telling us how to run our country and this is all about taking control back from Europe
