Should 23rd June become a national holiday

    Should this important decision be marked as a national holiday in honour of independence day.

    It's a shame the vote could have happened 2 months earlier. Then we could have had independence day on St.George's Day - what a result that would have been!

    I had the same thought, maybe we will look back in a few years time and decide that it must be one.

    It will be a day of morning for those that will lose there jobs .I just hope and pray that things get better in the long term and that we dont go to far right. Is it going to be good for WFC ?

    Article 50 day. I rather suspect "independence day" may well have to wait. What a mess.

    The referendum was for the whole of the UK. St George is only the patron saint of England. There is no patron saint of the UK. Are you suggesting the the UK as we know it is finished?

    Was the referendum for the whole UK then? - well blow me down, for the past few days I have been under the impression that it was for a whole bunch of different groups. Scotland, Northern Ireland, the young, the old, working class people, ex-pats, people in London, people in Northern England etc etc - I thought that they all had a different claim on the result. I was making my claim as an Englishman - but still as we are all racists, xenophobes who read The Sun and get our ideas in pubs, what do I know?
