Kind of. It's not as black and white as the question. The results can be ignored for a start as it's not legally binding. Can't see Cameron doing anything in the rest of his term, then there's legal implications based on economy strength which dictates how and when we can leave. Long way to go yet. The referendum is just the start of a very long journey.
We were told to expect this mate. It'll recover once the dust settles Yeah, it's going to be a minimum of 2 years before we can come fully away with it.
Could take longer to prepare adequately. Not something to be rushed. I think we could still be in it in 5 years time easily.
It's a democracy, it's not a time for sour grapes or gloating for me. I'm happy as Larry that we got the exit despite Project Fear, it was a horribly contested debate that has pigeon holed folk like me as xenophobes just because we don't agree that we are better off hand in hand with our European counterparts. The journey starts today, Cameron must now either admit his projections were based on nothing but blind fear or resign, he can't continue in his position after what he has said. Well done to Boris and co, a piñata for the Remainers, but he stood up for what he believed in and risked everything.
Mainly cos people will bemilking everything they can out of it now. We will suffer short term but will recover a lot stronger. I personally think it was a hard one to call but I also believe if Cameron had dealt with the immigration issues this would not have happened,
I suggest that everyone shops online within the next 24 hours. It won't take long for the drop in the exchange rate to push up prices.
It'll be everything. Even the small amount of industry that's left in this country will take a hit anything that's sourced from abroad especially China is going to cost about 10% more as of now.
Theres also about 20000 supply and chain workers feeding into Nissan. The shipyards n pits went Nissan came in. If Nissan goes summit else will come in. Its only the Scandinavians who can afford to give Nissan the grants to move out of the UK in Europe. Will they do it tho? France want out, Germany will be declared bankrupt in the next few months. Nissan bluffing methinks. They will just continue to get massive grants off GB.
I hold everyone who voted Out yesterday responsible for me having to listen to a gloating Farage on the radio in the car on the way into work this morning And don't tell me I could have listened to something else! IT'S MY RADIO!!!!!!!
Despite what was said during the Campaign, both in The UK and on The Continent, there still remains a few options that MIGHT be applied. MP's, the majority of whom wanted a STAY vote, COULD refuse to vote to leave. Unlikely, but possible. The EU realising that there will be a huge cost to their budgets when Britain takes it's contributions away COULD, A. - Renegotiate Terms, giving us the sort of Deal that Mr Cameron was asking for. This in itself would give MP's a good excuse to ignore this result, OR we could have another vote. B, - Give us a deal similar to that enjoyed by Norway. We would have to 'pay an annual charge' so that our contributions to central budget wouldn't be missed quite so much. This would give us what we voted for INITIALY. A TRADE PACT rather than the Political Union it's turned into. (THIS WOUL BE MY PREFERED OPTION) Failing these options Parliament could pass a short Act making all import taxes reciprocal. In other word we would charge each country the import duties on their goods that they charge us on our goods, going the other way. This will make it a good idea to get Trade agreements in place quickly, whatever The President of The USA might have said. --------- No doubt we will hear lots of other options over the coming days
