HULL CITY: Bullard told not to return
Monday, August 01, 2011Hull Daily MailFollow
JIMMY Bullard was not expected back at Hull City training today – despite the conclusion of his formal two-week suspension.

The errant midfielder was ordered to stay away from the first-team squad for a fortnight after a breach of discipline during the club's training camp in Slovenia.

Hull City have told Jimmy Bullard to stay away from training.
That suspension came to an end today but it is understood Bullard will be told to remain at home this week as City prepare for Friday night's season opener at home to Blackpool.

An internal investigation into Bullard's conduct has taken place in the last two weeks but that has not yet been concluded.

Determined not to see the matter become a distraction, manager Nigel Pearson was keeping tight-lipped following Saturday's 2-0 friendly win over Chesterfield.

But the City boss admitted he expected the Tigers to make a further comment in the coming days.

Pearson said: "The club will make a statement when it's appropriate on how that will move forward but apart from that I've got nothing more to say. I would expect that this week."

City are thought to be considering all eventualities as they ponder their next move in the Bullard saga.

Legal teams have advised the club to only make minimal comment on Bullard's suspension but it is likely the Tigers have explored the possibility of severing the final two years of his £45,000-a-week contract.

That could prove difficult and a financial package could instead be struck to suit all parties.

Bullard, a previous target for QPR, has grown increasingly unhappy in East Yorkshire and could be persuaded into taking a pay-off to resurrect his faltering career elsewhere.

Any future with City is surely dead in the water as Pearson plans for the new season without a thought for the club's highest paid player.

That could be good news, IF Bullard decides to take a pay-off - we might just get a chance of signing him. He has premier league experience (and a not so good injury record)...will he take a lower salary if offered the chance at LR?

Good player, would defo take him at LR but not at some stupid £45k salary like those mugs at Hull paid him.

£15k + £5k appearance or he can rot in Hull res.

I have fished with JB in the past what a great bloke ... the word albeit via fishing mates is that Hull are trying everything they can think of to get rid of him including trumping up a sackable charge. He is keen on QPR so I hope he makes it asi can see him doing very well for us.. he is also keen to show exactly what he can do... we all know that he can run games on his own and is the perfect man to feed AD.
    Really good news

@QPRnot606 I'll be amazed if he doesn't get dismissed for "gross misconduct" - assuming the rumours are true re his conduct :)

That could mean gross misconduct and maybe a sacking or another suspension.
You have to wonder whether JB has done this deliberately to get off Hull's books, and make it easy for them to get rid, however, if I was them i wouldn't want to pay up someones contract IF they had breached the rules and regulations. Worse, would or could he do that to us if he signed?

A huge solar flare could knock out Britain’s power supply and send the country back to dark ages. To see what it would be like visit Hull.

Tbh sticks in my throat to acknowledge it but the general £25k pwk wage ceiling the Goons have set is the best thing they (or most other prem clubs) have done both for the club and indeed for football itself.

Problem is, in setting that standard, QPR immediately place themselves at a competitive disadvantage. The top six to ten won't be following on any time soon.

Bullard understands that his contract together with his fitness record effectively prices him out of the market. There's nothing to stop him coming back to the table to renegotiate his terms. He doesn't have to breach his t&cs to free himself up.

In failing to take the initiative he's forcing Hull to consider their options which is likely to end up in a protracted legal process...

No use to us if we've got to wait until the legals are clear. He can see both the impasse and the opportunity to get another prem season in elsewhere. Whatever happened to personal integrity?

Brixton - agree completely with this.

"Bullard understands that his contract together with his fitness record effectively prices him out of the market. There's nothing to stop him coming back to the table to renegotiate his terms. He doesn't have to breach his t&cs to free himself up."

also, at 32 years of age you would have thought that he might have grown up a bit.......
