In my continuing fight against sexism I thought I'd post this thread. Women are using the hashtag #NoWomanEver to humorously highlight their not-so-funny experiences of wolf whistles, sexual comments from passing strangers and other street harassment. Although the hashtag isn't entirely new it's been used more than 140,000 times in the last couple of days after an American social media user called Miss Black Awareness revived it to sarcastically applaud the actions of a man whose unwanted advances she had seemingly recently suffered. She posted a number of tweets using the hashtag, such as: "He randomly walked next to me down the street for 5 whole minutes. I admired his tenacity and knew he was the man for me" #NoWomanEver" or "I was on my lunch break, and he said 'Oooh, I bet you waaaayyy more delicious than that salad' so I gave him my number" #NoWomanEver". The baton was soon picked up many others who used #NoWomanEver to recount their treatment by men. "I wasn't attracted to him. I politely declined his number. But when he followed me off the bus? " #NoWomanEver," one user tweeted. "When he pulled my earplug outta my ear for not responding? My heart melted" - #NoWomanEver," another said. All types of stories poured in from women not happy about the way they could be treated in the street. Interestingly, the tweets did not go unnoticed to some men online, who apparently were appalled by such practices and called for more respect to women. A message to those men, "He defended me online in a tweet, I knew he was the one for me" #NoWomenEver
Generally women fall for the wrong guys, and they pay for it. The man who treats a woman with respect is not always respected.
The good old days RHC? The Classic Yorkshire one "You don't sweat much for a fat lass" Disclaimer I have never used this or any other chat up line.
An old friend of mine, sadly passed away, maintained that his line was simply " D'yer fancy a ****?" He felt the 499 slaps in the face were worth it for that one time when they said ok then......
He was a Cockney, and not the most subtle of our species. He took up reflexology on the basis that more women might let him get his hands on them provided he was as far as possible away from their working parts, then he could perhaps make his way up. An ex of mine, very attractive but nervous around men, reluctantly let him have a go at her feet, as long as I was there too. I said I was going out of the room for a moment and he said "Darn worry, I'll ave er knickers orf before you get back". She shot off the sofa like lightning and wouldn't go near him again.
Imagine you took a man dressed as a woman home, you only discovered after midnight that he's actually a man. What would you do?. Get a gun or knife?. As for me, I will let him walk the street naked.
