The short term effects could be to a number of different degrees of bad depending on how things unfold upon a brexit, I've completely accepted the short term impacts and given my opinion on what I think the medium-long term benefits of leaving could be.

They don't hold all the cards, that's nonsense, as I've said before it isn't about who needs who more it's about doing a mutually beneficial deal for both sides.

The first part of your argument can be argued both ways, as whilst on the surface that would seem logical it depends what areas of deals are important to each country as to which deal is better, though I accept that in general your statement would fit. The second part however, it's easier for any country to do a deal with us than it is to do a deal which every EU member state agrees with. We don't need other countries to do a deal with everyone else, we need them to do a deal with us and it's easier for a negotiation of two parties to take place than a negotiation of almost 30.

Actually the German Finance Minister said that we wouldn't be able to have a Norway style deal and Out means Out with no access to whichever benefits of the EU we want. It was one of the German business leaders who said he wanted trade to continue as normal.

The Finance Minister has huge sway in the EU, the business leader is just looking out for his own best interest

not in the article I saw <ok>

Must have said two differing things. Or at least just hopes trade can continue as normal (ie we stay in).

I'm not sure why the Bexit people are even bothering to vote. Nearly every sensible person I've spoke to is voting 'remain'. Should be a total whitewash to be honest.

A total waste of everyone's time.

@PISKIE even managed to make a 100 page thread out of it <laugh>

I bet @Hoddle Is A God is seething at the thought!

You're giving Nigel the credit for that?

Even his own constituents didn't vote him in at the last election.

Exercising our right to take part in a democratic process ;)

I fully expect remain to win but hopefully it is close enough to send a message to the EU about reform.

He has had a big part to play in getting this referendum. Of course he has, for the last 20 years he has campaigned for the UK to pull out of the EU and after winning the EU elections with UKIP and then getting almost 4 million votes at the general election (well the fear of this was more the cause) the tories were pressured into calling the referendum. Regardless of what you might think of him he has clearly had an impact on the process.

As for his own constituents not voting him in, he came a close second and the tories who won the seat are under investigation for breaking rules on finances as they threw money at the constituency to keep Farage from winning.

No, he is giving UKIP the credit for that.

They have increasingly spooked the Tory politniks who feared them causing a vote drain
that causes perpetual Labour govt. And the 2015 general election was an even more interesting
wake-up call to the Labour politniks who lived under the delusion that UKIP will not eat into
    their core demographic.

George Romero and Tom Savini should make a zombie film where a Muslim population get affected
during Ramadan. They could call it "Day of the living Eid" .

If we lose and remain in, the EU will make some big changes to make sure we have an even smaller chance of escaping in the future.
