To be honest I wouldn't imagine he'd be too keen on Liverpool. 2 Years left on his contract and European football with us. He could move somewhere better next year for CL footie and big money having guided us to a Europa cup win. The only thing Liverpool can offer him this season is money which would be a bit short-sighted of him.

 

But Liverpool pay £25m for all our players??

 

I don't want to lose Mane at any price.

 

Trouble is with just 2 years left, we can command a huge price now but if he doesn't extend it then he will go for the same as wanyama did this summer. Losing mane for 12 million woukd be such a shame as we could probably get 35 for him.

 

But we would have to buy someone else and they may not be as good. A shame maybe but if we win something with him it would be worth every penny.

 

We are no longer in the desperate for money stage. This is an important season for us...we are in the group stages of the Europa. Doing well this season, especially in Europe, is worth a money drop. And if Mane has another great season, one year left or not, he will command a high price from a big club. I think we will stick to our guns and keep him this season.

 

After we bombed in europe last season, i really want us to give it a serious go if that means finishing lower down the league then so be it. As long as relegation never becomes an issue i would like us to prioritise europe and the cups.

 

He didn't have a great season this year. Quality the last couple of months but pretty average for the rest of the season. Was shop window time hence the performance boost!

That won't happen. That value is about Vic's value, give or take a little. We sold Clyne for 12m with 1 year left; that was hardly cut price.

Finish lower down the league; more players will want to leave, for less money, players are less likely to come, we wont be in Europe again, we get a lot less money. Best to the improve in both comps, and if we do sell, we're able to command the highest prices.

 

If Mane has a great season, and with crazy money in full flow; maybe 7 massive clubs want him, and still we can command £35m. I doubt he would want run down his contract.

 

True but i'm selfish and want short term gains. Silverware over top 6 finish for me.

 

If we finish top six, next season, I will be delighted, and very surprised.
It is going to be tougher than ever, especially when we add in the Europa League distraction.
I think West Ham (if they reach the Europa group stage) and Leicester will also be unlikely to finish top six, so there will be an almighty scramble for the top ten.

 

Clyne for £12m was a steal! If Clyne had 2/3 years on his contract tracts we would have got £20/25 million for him for sure, young, proven and English. Wanyama would have gone for £25/30 if he had a few years left.
I do agree that we would get more for mane as he is a goal scorer and (depending on next season) has been a better player, but we would still miss out on a **** load of money. I think the best plan of action would be to extend his contract with a £30/35 million release clause.

£35m plus is the magic number for us. Mane would see Liverpool as a step up.

 

To be fair, whether we like it or not, currently Pool are a step up...
