Well, we commented several times on this thread how difficult the task of guessing who QPR would play first game of the season is, and it has proved too much for the collective genius of NOT606 QPR posters. But let's not beat ourselves up over it, even Einstein would have struggled with this one, 46 different options FFS!

Or it could be that not enough of us made the commitment, put our credibility on the line, took the plunge and undertook the exhausting and demanding activity of actually guessing. And then posting the guess on here. I propose that next season everyone who participates gets two guesses so we don't encounter this frankly embarrassing outcome again. I realise that this is a big ask of our core guessers, a massive increase in effort (twice as much!), but surely it's worth it.

If you've ever watched The Detectorists, there's a scene where the two chaps are discussing last night's University Challenge, admitting that neither of them knew any answers. One of the guys said he 'nearly' got one right. When challenged to explain what 'nearly right means', he said he knew the answer but wasn't confident enough to say it aloud. In his own house. Alone...

We are that guy when it comes to predictions. If only we were like that guy over the EU referendum... :)

Maple guessed Leeds away so I suppose that makes him the closest?
    Congratulations Sir - sort of.

Well, he was half right. I said Sheffield Wednesday at home, so I was half right too! I suggest I share the prize with Maple.

Stan, what was the prize again?

I am more than willing to share with anyone who has a legit claim on tying for this "prize" -it is highly unlikely that I will see QPR in action this year coming - I had hoped to be in England for my daughter's graduation but she says she is not attending so Mrs Maple and I also will skip that event and anyway the grad is scheduled for July 19 so the season won't have started.

But I picked Leeds away because I thought that I had seen that someone else had Leeds at LR. Can't find that now so just have to look forward to that mach the start of the season and the season we return to the Prem. And I hope to meet up with some of you if the improbable occurs and I do end up at LR for a match during the season.

Why is maple jr not attending her own graduation
Has she even been studying or has. The constant request for study funds really been party money

Young Ms Maple has made some sense over the years, but not this time. I did not attend my own graduation because I was working about 800 miles from the graduation site but she is only a tube ride away from her school.
