FOM is we need a CB and maybe a LB. But, this question will decide if we need a CM should Nasri and Cesc leave: Do Wilshere and Ramsey have the potential to be better than Cesc and Nasri? What do you think?
Different positions, but as a CM pairing they do have potential. Ramsey will still have to go some to be as good as Cesc though, ever. However, I don't think either will leave. Wenger has made it clear that he wants to kepp Nasri, and I think he'll sign a new contract. Barca, can't afford Cesc and we won't sell him on the cheap.
I think you may find that once you let burgeoning talent lose on the pitch, you could be in for some welcoming surprises. Remember the change of atmosphere following TH's departure? I recall that first year as being one of many positives although it did not eventually lead to anything concrete but the players stepped up. Even Adebayor netted thirty goals that season. I think the departure of Cesc and Nasri would allow Willshire and Ramsey to up their game. Jack is not short of tenacity and Aaron will be dying to prove that the Capt of Wales armband was not the result of a fluke decision. Cesc's mind is elsewhere and Nasri would walk in a year's time. For Wenger who has been so watchful of monies, I would have thought throwing 20million quid which would effectively be what he would be doing when Nasri walks next year was something he would want to avoid. 20mil could buy us Eden Hazard for example and the chance to regroup, refocus and get back to the old Arsenal, the one that wins all but two of their last 15 matches and not the other way around.
In my opinion Fabregas will stay as Barca cannot afford him. And Nasri will be staying for atleast another season and imo it will depend on how well we do to whether he signs again or not. If we get some silverware i'd say Nasri will stay. Nasri is one of the players who has always seemed happy at Arsenal. As for Wilshere and Ramsey i think they can be an amazing midfield duo, there passing and movement is going to terrorise teams. Add Walcott and Miyachi for pace on the wings and you have 4 young players who could rip teams apart on the counter. I'd say they will form a partnership of a similar level to Fabregas and Nasri - it will all depend on there understanding of each other to whether they surpass the spaniard and frenchman though.
