Pre season games all finished, winning every one. So, who would you like to see start against Blackpool on friday night? il start off, Gulcasi Rosenoir Hobbs Chester Dudgeon Koren McKenna Evans Brady Fryatt Adebola subs: Basso, McLean, Simpson, Dawson, Cairney very excited for the game on Friday! UTT
I'd go with: Gulasci Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon Koren McKenna Evans Brady Fryatt McLean Subs: Basso, Dawson, Cairney, Barmby, Adebola I'm sure that 10 of my 11 will actually start. Who partners Fryatt is up for debate. Against Blackpool's donkey centre halves, I'd start McLean to run them ragged.
For me; Gulasci Rosenior, Hobbs, Chester, Dudgeon (Back 5 picks itself) Koren, Cairney, Evans, Brady Fryatt, Simpson Frankly Ill be happy with who ever starts with Matty up top as Dele, Mclean and Simpo all offer different dimensions to the game to exploit, which will benefit in their own way. The only other position up for debate is the CM pairing but for me Cairney has to start.
Everyone seems to be sticking with Evans in the centre mid, do you reckon it will definately be him in the centre? I would like to see Cairney in the centre, but im not too fussed if it was McKenna, although I haven't seen him play yet.
I think Cairney really deserves a starting place after his pre-season performances. Tough call between Evans and Mckenna...
Gulcasi Rosenoir Hobbs Chester Dudgeon Koren McKenna Evans Brady Fryatt McLean subs: Basso, Adebola, Simpson, Dawson, Cairney If we add Alaya into the mix that makes the back 5 interesting !
Gulcasi Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudegon Koren Cairney Evans Brady Fryatt McLean Subs: Basso, Adebola, Simpson, Mckenna, Devitt
------------Gulasci------------ Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon -------McKenna Cairney-------- --Koren-----------------Brady-- -------Fryatt ---- Adebola ----- Not too sure on Cairney/Evans and Adebola/Simpson/Mclean, but I think that formation and the rest of the positions work well.
I would like to see that team maybe Simpson for Adebola I also wouldn't mind to see ------------Gulasci------------ Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon ---------Koren Cairney-------- --Devitt-----------------Brady-- -------Fryatt ---- Simpson ----- I could pick a few different ones at the moment to be honest we have a good squad
i think our back five appears to be obvious as well as the wingers (Koren and Brady) and Fyatt has got to start. Only question seems to be who partners Matty and the CM pairing. For me i would like to see big Dele up top with Matty (replaced by Simpson later on) and a CM paring of McKenna and Cairney. My only question is why is everyone picking Gulasci as appose to Basso, Basso looked good when i saw him, has Gulasci done something i have missed?
by the way very excited about the season, i think we have pretty darn good strength in depth, something we have been lacking, also we actually have some wingers for about the first time in as long as i can remember (well since king Elliott). My only concern is that i don’t think we have a striker who will get us 25 plus goals, something i think you need to get out of the Championship
I would think the terms of Gulasci's loan means that he gets 1st team playing experience......and Basso, who had been on trial, was signed 2nd, as 2nd 'keeper.
Last season's top scorer scored 24 goals! And his team didn't get promoted! Top scorer in 09/10 got 22 goals and he didn't go up either! You need your team to score goals. If you have someone to chip in 15-20, that's great but if you don't get goals from several players, you won't go up. Of course if you are super stingy in defence, you need to score less goals.
I'd like to see this: ------------Gulasci------------- Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon --------McKenna Cairney-------- --Koren-----------------Brady-- -------Fryatt ---- McLean----- Subs: Basso, McShane, Evans, Barmby & Adebola It'd be a bit harsh to leave Simpson out all together and to be honest i think he's looked slightly better McLean in pre-season, but with only 5 subs one of the four strikers will miss out most weeks and i think Jay's looked best when partnered with Dele so if Matty starts (which he obviously will), then i'd start with McLean over Simpson for now. The other option is to go without a keeper on the bench and stick all the strikers in the 16, but NP strikes me as more of a cautious type so i can't imagine we'll see that happen much. The Evans or Cairney debate will rattle on until Pearson announces the team (and probably afterwards if we don't win!) but Cairney's looked far better in pre-season, Evans is class, but despite a lot of people defending him, his performances in pre-season haven't been to his (or Cairney's) standards yet, so for that reason i think Cairney deserves the start against Blackpool. Whatever the line-up though, i'm confident of a decent result against a new-look Blackpool that will hopefully still be learning each others names come Friday! It'll be tough though, I can't bloody wait!!
fryatt will obviously be topscorer with between 15-20 I would say (Injuries permitting) Simpson next with 5-10 McLean/Adebola 5-10 between them Koren 5-10 Barmby has the potential to get 5-10 Brady will chip in with a few Set pieces i.e Chester/Hobbs will get 5-10 between them Cairney/Evans probs 5-10 between them Couple of own goals and others chipping in should see us right because I cannot see us conceding many
Does the 5 subs start this season or next? I thought it was next. I'm not sure with Mclean i think in preseason the other forwards have looked better then him but hop he proves me wrong, McShane is out for two months I think so won't be on the bench
Sounds plausible (is that spelt correctly ??) Except maybe the Chester/Hobbs contribution. It certainly looks better than last year at this time, and I agree with you about us not letting in too many.
