    Midfielder pens three-year deal

    • QPR confirm first summer signing
    • Polish international Borysiuk pens deal until 2019
    • JFH delighted with arrival of midfielder
QPR have completed the signing of Poland international Ariel Borysiuk.

The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with Legia Warsaw for the midfielder’s services.

Borysiuk becomes Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first signing of the summer, and the Rangers gaffer is delighted to have the defensive-midfielder on board.

“I am delighted we’ve signed him, because he is a player I really wanted to bring to this football club,” Hasselbaink told www.qpr.co.uk.

“I believe Ariel’s game is built for English football. He likes to get stuck in and stamp his authority on games. He's young, committed and plays with great passion.

“Most of his good work goes unnoticed, but when he's not playing, you miss him - and that's a good quality for a defensive-minded midfield player.”

Hasselbaink added: “The fact he chose us, when he had a number of good options elsewhere, shows me what he is all about.

“He is excited about playing in England for QPR and we are excited to have him here.

“He has experience of playing in different countries and that will help him. I feel he's very equipped to play in this country.”

Borysiuk readily admits the lure of playing in England was a big factor in his decision to swap Champions League football for the Championship.

“I am very delighted to join QPR,” he said. “This is a great club with a big tradition.

“I had some options but when I was young I dreamed about playing in England and when there was an option with QPR, I didn’t need much time to think about it. This is a great step forward for me.

“I am a player who gives 100 per-cent in every game. I think English fans like players like this.

“I am a big fan of English football. I just can’t wait to join up with the team, the manager and all his staff. I can’t wait to start.”

Sounds more like a Karl Henry type rather than a Faurlin.

Lets hope he's a defensive midfielder who can play a bit as well!

These types of players are crucial to a teams chances in this division, like the fact he's got some youth on his side, and looking forward to seeing what he's about.

I'm glad Ariel signed, did we give him a decent reception?

Can you be "very delighted"? Thought delighted was describing enough.

    Sounds like a mermaid.

Well at least if he turns out to be a 5hit player he'll probably be ok to re-point the stadium brickwork.

Legia Warsaw revealed the transfer had been completed through a statement on their website, and thanked the midfielder for his services to the club.

"Ariel - good luck in your new club. Thank you for a great attitude on and off the pitch," read the statement.

    Sounds perfect to me <ok>

I translate some of today’s live forum comments in Poland on this Borysiuk transfer:

"Are a 2nd league English team better than the Polish Champions who may play in the Champions League?"

"We (Legia) are again selling a good and experienced players and will be again replacing them with junior or mediocre players, and we say that the CL is our priority. Mr Chairman, you are a joke...."

"Of course it is a good move for him as he will play real football with tough players and not the kick around of our league."

"Financially it will be much better for him, but as regards to the football, I don’t think so."

My summary is that they are not very pleased to lose him, which is good for us.

I hope he does well for us, however there is a very high frequency of players who have signed for us and have not delivered due to not being on the same wavelength as our club

I hope he does well - but it will be an up-hill struggle and he will have much to prove.

If good foreign players read our forums I doubt they would ever sign (as for the mercenaries we have a massive queue)

BORYSIUK...thought it was something to do with Bojo's Leave campaign...<doh>

A good defensive midfielder can make a hell of a difference to a team in this league, let's hope JFH has done his homework on Ariel...
