Watching England reminds me of when I used to play Pro Evo on the playstation years ago. I would expect and normally win most games on it. However I would always get one of those games where the harder I tried, the more desperate I got, the more frustration kicked in then the worse I played. All 3 England games have been like that. If Russia, Wales and Slovakia had bothered to turn up to try to beat us we'd have been screwed.
Yes you are correct, though we did have some good results against Italy, Germany, and a few other teams under Mark Hughes, but still nothing like this. Wales problem has always been the lack of top players (PL standard) in the team, we have now got pretty much the numbers we need to field a quality team for once, and as long as the manager allows, our boys prefer to attack in numbers, as Slovakia and Russia found out............
Only saw the seond half of the game as I was on a speed awareness course last night! But I watched them waxing lyrical about things england players were doing "Great cross" (when it was 9 foot high and went out for a throw in) "Oh he saw the keeper off his line" (Not followed up with "so he kicked the ball straight to him 5 yards wide of the goal") There was one time when Slovakia cleared the ball from close to the touchline, the ball goes out and comes back in and the ref gives the throw. The other ball is still on the pitch as england try to take the throw and they say "Throw in taken from the wrong place - so he... makes them take it from the same place" - you wonder if these guys have ever watched football half the time! Dier did the same thing about 20 times last night - and it didn;t work once (he also did it against Russia and Wales) yet we don;t have anyone else to play in his spot! Alli looks half the player he has at Spurs - don;t get me started on Harry Kane! Walking Kane more like! Reminds me of the Brucey days - Plan a - if plan A doesn;t work... Just keep trying it. If it hasn;t worked by 60 minutes - just keep trying it 70 minutes - ahh it's fine just do the same thing again... 80 Minutes... Yeah just keep doing the same 95 minutes when the whistle's blown - OH well we tried (YEAH THE SAME ****ING THING 400000 TIMES!)
Agreed, Glen Hoddle has got to be the world's worst co commentator, they all state the bleeding obvious but offer little to enhance the watchers enjoyment of what was a turgid 95 minutes of pass the ball to no one in particular and then wait till they pass it back too you, complete garbage, and yes we had all the possession and did f--k all with it.
Had more shots too - The geordies were all celebrating a massive England win last night I think In a DIY scenario - if I have a nut which doesn;t fit on the bolt - would I find a nut that fits or keep trying the same nut for an hour and a half? New thread coming up on this!!

I could see that, Italy can contain and frustrate them and they don't react well to that. Wouldn't be surprised to see a red card.

Watched the Turkey game and just seen the highlight of the Spain game. That penalty should have been retaken the keeper ws 3 yards off his line when the ball was kicked.
