The Russians are still very much alive in this tournament - beat us, and if England beat Slovakia, they qualify as runners-up....
I think that second Croatia goal got the biggest cheer/laugh from my sofa so far this tournament. Spain to play Italy in the round of 16
But none of these until the final!! France, Spain, Italy, Germany, England are all on the same side of the draw.
Doesn't look good for England Bellamy said last night we could reach the semis. He could well end up being right.
No, France are on Wales side of the draw. But it looks like Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain and England all on the same side. This third-place stuff is complicated. It's decided on a) points gained, then b) goal difference, then c) goals scored, then d) disciplinary record at Euro 2016, then e) UEFA team co-efficient rankings. So far we have: Group A - Albania, 3points, GD -2, goals scored 1 Group B - Slovakia 4 points (home and dry, no need to go any further) Group C - N.Ireland 3 points GD 0, goals scored 2 (through on superior GD regardless of groups E and F) Group D - Turkey 3 points GD-2, goals scored 2 That puts Turkey ahead of Albania on goals scored if it comes to the crunch between those two. In group E, unless ROI beat Italy or Sweden beat Belgium, both Sweden and ROI will both be gone on 1 or 2 points. Group F is a really tight group and the possibilities are endless. I reckon Wales will be playing N. Ireland or Turkey in R16, then Poland in the quarters where super-finisher Neil Taylor will score again against Fabianski. Meanwhile England will beat Portugal, Spain and then Germany to reach the final where they will beat France.
Aswan, the BBC are clearly stating "France, Spain, Italy and Germany are all now on England's side of the draw, rather than that of Wales." If England win their next match, they are likely to play France in Paris....
