Woy Hodgson reminds me of, and I apologise for mentioning the name, Howard Wilkinson. He's a cure for insomniacs the boring auld b*stard. Give it to a manger who wont bore them to death and let them loose. We have a fairly young but experienced squad who could walk this with decent encouragement from a man manager not a FA puppet.
I thought the title of this thread was Apologies for Englands Performances. Its not your fault Marcus mate!
It amuses me that sea cows are supposedly where stories of mermaids came from, when sex starved sailors would see them frolicking in the water near their ship: They are quite sexy to be fair.
If England had qualified by the skin of their teeth by beating an Italian reserve side 1-0 they would be getting slated from all sides...Strange that when Ireland do this it is classed as a wonderful achievement..
It shows a gulf in expectation, we've come to expect our players to perform at the highest level, the Irish are just happy to qualify for most of these things. No matter what happens to Wales/Ireland/NI now, they've had a great tournament, yet if we beat Iceland and get KO'd on pens to France, it's another let down and Rooney has failed again on the big stage.
