Oh dear, SH, selective use of figures again. Where were the other 37% of the support going? Try looking at the middle of the road.

They are not selective just recent polls, I'm not sure anyone knows where the non committed will put their vote, bit like the referendum.
What it does show is that the middle ground, unlike in the UK, is weak in France. The extremes, far left and far right are strong which does not help social cohesion.

Really, I think you must have seen a headline rather than the actual figures. Excluding the don't knows the figures you quote are correct, but there is now another politician that is sweeping up the majority of the support, and he is from the middle ground.

His support must so inconsequential as not to be recorded. Is this wishful thinking? Please kindly inform which party and his current support amongst the voters.

Is he Melechon currently on 12%,? Way behind Hollande, he was on 16% in April so losing support. He has no chance of making the second round.

You show that you do not know. Before I help you out, get and read some French newspapers.

    No.

You do not seem to be up to speed about what is happening here. The candidates for the election next year have not been selected, and there is no certainty that Hollande or Sarkozy will stand.

Surprisingly, we do actually get news of French politics in the UK by television, newspapers and WWW, it's quite easy really.

You may mean Juppe, hopefully he cannot be any less effective than Sarkozy. I'm still not sure the french are ready to do what is required and squash the militant unions. They desperately need a politician with balls like Thatcher.

Even the polls know the candidates are not declared yet but use politicians that may represent their respective political parties. it simply gives an indication to the current popularity of each party.

Probably - Howe's firmly in one hand and Whitelaw's firmly in the other.

I had to register to vote locally by Tuesday, which I did. I thought that it said on the form that there were to be elections for centeniers on Wednesday (yes, the day after registration closed) but I can't find anything about those elections on the island and parish websites, or any of the local media websites. Unfortunately, I was ill on Wednesday and unable to vote. I may have been mistaken that there were elections on Wednesday, but if I'm right, apathy for politics on the island has reached a whole new level.

You are safe now - Miliband and Balls have been consigned to the political dustbin, their lies are well forgotten.

This company also operates in Australia and many other countries. It also gave call centre facilities to Boris when he wanted to become London Mayor. Last year the company set aside £9.5 m to pay in tax to the UK. It is clearly operating on the edges of the law in most countries, mainly the far east, and now it has set up a money transfer company it is under a very watchful eye around the world.
