Who will he start with in the next game? It's clear Kane, although excellent last season, isn't on top form and Sterling has been weighed down by his wage packet since he betrayed Liverpool for the oil money. Has to be Sturridge, who is the opposite of Kane, injured most of the season and therefore fresh now, and Vardy who is not only lightning quick but also one of those ball-magnets inside the box.

Let's hope Wales stuff Russia in their final game, go through themselves and send Putin's Paramilitaries home - or perhaps to East Ukraine where they were until recently.

It seems the stats tell us that Harry Kane has covered more yards/metres in the 2015/16 season than any other player.....not surprising that his body wants to go on holiday before the end of this tournament....he will be burnt out in a couple more years if he doesn't slow down.

Raheem Sterling was a delight at Liverpool....that's hard for me to say as I hate Liverpool......since joining the mega-rich brigade he runs around in ever decreasing circles achieving sweet fanny adams from what I see.

If we want to go further in this competition they should be used only from the bench.

How different two games can be. Watched Spain v Turkey tonight and Spain were more entertaining in one quarter of the game than in the whole previous one. Whilst they still passed the ball to death it was quite quick and accurate with a desire to actually go forward this time. Three very good goals and thoroughly worth the watch throughout.

Looks like Croatia is the next one in serious trouble. You have to ask yourself what the people on the gates of these grounds are doing to allow so many pirotechnics into the stadiums. The throwing of them this evening from the Croatia end was clearly organised as they all seemed to arrive on the pitch at pretty much the same time. The thunderflashes which almost took a Stewards hand off by the look of it was stupid in the first degree. With all of the terrorist stuff going on in France at the moment it really is moronic to do what these people are doing. I almost wish one of them would get shot because it would teach everyone a hard lesson. Croatia have form for all of this stuff apparently but even they must realise how stupid it is. If you are on standby with some trouble half expected somewhere and somebody does this kind of thing then a sense of humour bypass is to be expected. The other pity is that it wasn't that bad a match spoiled in the end.

Well, have to say I wasn't that impressed with any of todays games. Actually thought it was bore Saturday for the most part. The only satisfying thing was watching Ronaldo go into internal meltdown and I think he could be playing till Monday and wouldn't score. When the gods are against you boy are they against you. I think there are going to be better days than today for entertainment.

Now last night was the Hungerians turn with the Flares..

I dont think France should be allowed to hold another tournament of any kind.. the security is a joke.. Flares, fire crackers in the grounds? All the police do is fire tear gas or pepper spray.. Why have they not got mounted police? when we play Exeter with a 10k crowd the horses helicopter ect.. our police are good at the football matches.. its the stewards that are the problem in this country.. well in plymouth.. Surely EUFA should punish france? who is responsible for the searching of the fans? They will soon moan if a terroist arrives.. how will they stop them entering the grounds?

Simple answer to that one is they won't Joe. I am waiting to be watching a game and for a big bang to happen for real. This must be saying to those kind of people to come on in and do your worst. This flare thing is getting out of hand. I noticed a couple o instances with Argyle last season and read about several away from home by us as well. Wembley it was Wimbledon who let one off. This is such a dangerous practice yet the morons who do it seem to have no idea it isn't cool. I read a number of posts on pasoti by people condoning it as high jinx and branding those who object as old fuddy duddies. If you had a breathing problem such as asthma for example and were stood next to one of these flares you could end up dead on the floor. The smoke is terrible and choaking. It needs stamping out and quickly.

Yep agree with the flares.. I was told by a few people that a pub near wembley got trashed by argyle fans as i know who few people who were in their having a drink.. They let green flares off in the pub..This all started with the turks a while ago i think.. Yep Eufa need to take action.. not just a few euro fine.. points deducted or out ..Yep it seems that security is not great on entry to the games, they must know or they would not try to get them in.. surely.

I'll put this on the right thread tonight. Another waste of 2 hours of my life again tonight. I think England did not have much of a clue despite all the chances they had. Sturidge was pants for me and looked tired throughout. Henderson wasteful. Rooney the same when he came on. Dier was that most of the time. Clyne had a decent game. One or two others quite reasonable. The rest average at best. It's no good having all of the game if you can't conjour up something from it. 2nd behind Wales is not good enough. Half of them just looked knackered and not interested.

Did Vardy vaporise or something after the first 20 minutes.....I'm sure he was there but he had no service.

We need a real playmaker who can change things....no plan B or no one who was clever enough to implement it.

The stats will suggest that Slovakia should have thrown in the towel to save them from anymore punishment.

They were poor plym and by rights this should have been a walk in the park for England if it's just stats you look at. But, we've all seen games like this many many times before. It's not chances that win you games is converting them. Vardy had no service at all for most of the game. Take Skirtles leg out of the game and we won it 6 nil. As said though, most of our players were just about average if you are being kind. We are not going very far in the knock out stages like this. Then again we seldom do.

They all look so tired. However, this is their one and only job and they should be able to play a couple of games a week every week. I don't buy into this "they play too many games" bollox. The average 25 year old goes out and works on a building site every day of the week and on Sunday despite lugging piles of bricks about all week plays a game of football quite happily. Thats without any training or being ultra fit. Not the same standard I know but I know which one of the two puts in more physical effort in a week. Apart from training and playing a game a week they have nothing else whatsoever to think about or worry about because a man does that for them. Lack of backbone is my diagnosis. Pampered overpaid prima donas,

Typical England.. Why did we not start with the team that finished the wales game.. I think we will get to the last 8 and with a bit luck we can do that..
We have dominated 3 games and won 1? poor with the players we have.. This has to be the most dullest tournament in a while.. not just us but all the teams .. i hope Iceland win it :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: .. We may play Portugual next.. that is nil nil and penalties.. may as well just watch the penalties.. Well done wales i say.. they want it more than us.. passion is what they have.. <devil>

That is partly my point with the "too many games" excuse. Look at Wales and they don't look tired do they. Look at Northern Ireland and they give it everything. Republic of Ireland much the same. England no balls and no heart.

I have to say that the vast majority of the games I've watched so far have been dull. I still say that there are 3 teams who might win this tournament. Spain, Italy who have surprised me a bit and Germany because you can never write off the metronomes. I am finding it harder and harder to be enthusiastic about the rest of this competition.

Hopefully things will improve as we go into the sudden death phase where teams can't just play a 6-4-0 formation. From Slovakia's point of view it worked: 0-0 probably seems them into the next round. For a counter attacking side like England, it's stifling.

Given England's record in qualifying, it must have seemed before the start that almost any England team could beat Slovakia. However, I thought Wilshire was particularly poor: when is he going to learn that midfielders pass the ball and you can't run it through a wall of players? I don't rate Henderson at this level either. Giving the ball away is dangerous even against the likes of Slovakia: if we'd gone 0-1 down, it could have been a very different situation this morning. At least we are definitely through and with some chance or a reasonable draw in the next round.

Have you seen the formula they are using to decide who plays who in the knock outs? They must have used Plym's computer prediction system.

Some of the players almost look like rabbits in headlights and others just seem not to be too bothered at all. It wasn't so much that Slovakia defended well it was more how poor half of the England players were. Ok they were a bit unlucky at times and it did seem that the football gods were upset with them somehow. But overall this was an easy win game. I just don't see this lot going further even if I still hope they do.
